A Story You Wont Believe!!!

http://i960.photobucket.com/albums/ae90/jgen848/012.jpgThis is a story that is too good to be true. On Wednesday my brother-in-law, who works as a manager at Buffalo area grocery store, finds a laptop in the cafe. A guy calls the store and tells him he needs the laptop back but he is in Syracuse because he's the merchandising manager for Rush. My bro-in-law tells him we going to show in Syracuse and we can drop it off for him. The guy is thankful as all hell and says "When you get here we'll make sure you're taken care of."

We had no clue what this was going to entail. We were thinking anywhere from a "Thanks for returning the laptop" to meeting the Holy Triumvirate themselves. It was in between the two and it was an experience we will never forget.

We start out by returning the laptop to the guy who lost it and then he takes us back to the merchandise semi trailer. We are walking through boxes and boxes of swag and he hands us a bunch of t-shirts, baseball hats, and totes. We were ecstatic at this point until he said, "Do you want a backstage tour?" at which point we pissed our pants! This was the closest chance we will ever have of meeting the band so we had to ask if we could. Unfortunately he said it was little too chaotic at the time we were there so it wasn't possible.

We get up on stage and it was a sight to see. It was amazing to see all the behind the stage workings going on. We were then allowed to walk around on stage and take as many pictures as you want (we just couldn't touch the equipment). We were like kids in a candy store and security was getting a little antsy. We were on stage for around 20 minutes just taking it all in...the fine details on Neils drum kit were amazing! The whole experience went by so fast I dont remember everything I saw.

This was my 20th time to see the band and hands down this is the best time I have ever had. Enjoy the pics!.....

totally awesome story! so very happy for you!... and for the Merch Guy to get his laptop back smile.gif

what an experience and really nice to know you appreciate your opportunity. Thanks for sharing your story and pics with us, too applaudit.gif

sidenote - in my limited experience, I've noticed that official band Merch guys tend to be cool and personable. Glad to hear that RUSH's Merch guy is of that caliber.

Amazing. Talk about being at the right place at the right time!

Thanks for sharing the pics. Especially love the one of Neil's trunk. "I hit things with sticks" and "More Cowbell" stickers are awesome!

I guess Neil is a Carl Edwards fan (re the 99 sticker).

Awesome story and pics!!!

Awesome, awesome! I love seeing Rush fans having a good time like that. applaudit.gif

Maybe it's a good thing you didn't meet the band, though, seeing as how you'd "pissed your pants"! laugh.gif That would have been embarrassing.

Thanks for sharing. trink39.gif
