  1. Brad Page from the great I'm In Love With That Song just posted his breakdown of "Subdivisions" today. He has some wonderful things to say about Neil throughout the episode. https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9sb3ZldGhhdHNvbmcucG9kYmVhbi5jb20vZmVlZC54bWw&episode=Y2IxM2M0MDYtMzc2NS0xMWVhLThmM2UtNDNjYzM0OGQ1MjQ3&hl=en&ved=2ahUKEwj2hu6rqofnAhVsplkKHZrWCFUQieUEegQIARAE&ep=6
  2. This is incredible. Jared Max did a tribute to Neil by cramming about 40 Rush albums and songs into his sports broadcast. This is a must-listen!!! https://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be

  4. The call at 50:15 is pretty heartbreaking .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWuGzK84oBQ&t=3241s
  5. Rest in peace (which comes from the Latin Requiescat in pace) wishes the deceased eternal peace in the afterlife. Today's usage of the phrase is not hypocritical. It's merely one of a great many examples of older religious words and phrases being used in a secular context today. It's not much different than saying "goodbye" to someone or "bless you" when someone sneezes. Yes, the mistake being made here is to confuse the use of ritualistic language with belief in the literal meaning of that language. Death is one of a handful of occasions in life when we find the best way of expressing our thoughts and feelings is by recourse to time-tested and ancient language. By saying "rest in peace" are they implying a belief in an afterlife? No, they're using the phrase because "rest in peace" is what one says at a time like this. It's not intended as philosophical or religious commentary. Those words are used because they're familiar, and because they express the grief and wishes of those who are left behind. Neil was explicitly clear about his religious beliefs during his lifetime. He wrote dozens of songs alluding to them, and thousands of words of prose on top of that. This isn't a case of "no atheists in a foxhole", this is just grieving humans attempting to come to terms with something beyond the understanding of the human mind, and reaching for the language that best approaches it. And when we think about it, wishing peace to the deceased is more likely a wish for ourselves. The deceased is, in fact, at peace. We are not. We're miserable. It's why we have funeral rituals; we have them to ease OUR pain. Yes. This exactly. RIP Maestro and Go Pack Go!
  6. this "nobody" doesn't know the future just as the members of the band don't know. the only thing we all know is that this is the last full-blown tour like they've been doing for 40+ years. that doesn't mean that it's the end of the band or the end of their musical careers. after listening to alex's interview with eddie trunk, it sounds like geddy is really enjoying playing and performing now (as is alex). i can see both of them working with other artists over the next few years while neil spends time with his family. i'm quite certain that we will hear from both geddy and alex outside the context of rush. maybe we will get another recording- maybe not. maybe we will get some special shows here and there- maybe not. nobody knows. the great thing is that if this was the last concert and "clockwork angels" was their last recording, then they went out on the highest note possible!
  7. i say don't add anything from HYF. i say add KID GLOVES!
  8. i showed up without a ticket and ended up getting 8th row in section 107. what a FANTASTIC performance. geddy was just killing it the whole night. they all were!
  9. yep. that's actually the first thing i did. the tickets weren't listed on either site. the other thing i just noticed is that MSG tickets have a picture of radio city music hall in the background and his tickets didn't. here's the picture of his tickets that he sent to me http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e296/jbroad70/FullSizeRender_zps300dkj6c.jpg
  10. I don't doubt it, but what tipped you off? i asked the guy to send me a picture of the tickets. he did send me the picture and everything looked legit. i went into the city to meet "sean palmer" (that was the name on the ticket stub) and a young african american guy approached me. he was wearing sweats, an old hoodie, and it looked like he hadn't showered in a few days. he pulled the tickets out of his hoodie pocket and showed them to me. he seemed to be in a hurry. i asked him to show me the back of the tickets and he said "it's ok, you can touch the tickets". i just got a really weird vibe about the whole thing and said "yeah, i'm not sure about this". he said ok, put the tickets back in his hoodie and quickly walked off. the whole thing was really weird. the crazy thing was that the tickets looked legit but i'm not sure how this guy acquired them
  11. i found this guy on craigslist: http://newyork.craig...5074188278.html section B, row 7 (dead center of the floor, 7th row)! update: i met this guy in the city today and it was a total scam. i believe the tickets were either stolen or counterfeit
  12. how much did you end up spending and where are the seats?
  13. does anyone have an extra ticket to the MSG show. looking for either a floor seat or one of the lower levels somewhat close to the stage. thanks in advance!
  14. please let me know if anyone has 1 or 2 tickets to the sold out show in philadelphia on 6/25. thanks!
  15. (not including live albums) signals permanent waves moving pictures hemispheres a farewell to kings the next 5 would be caress of steel fly by night grace under pressure power windows clockwork angels
  16. i still plan on catching them in either nyc or philly but i haven't found a decent seat at a decent price yet. all hope is not lost though. i held out on the time machine tour in 2010 and the venue ended up releasing more seats about a month before the show. we ended up getting dead center, 18th row floor seats at $180 a pop :) i'm hoping to have the same kind of luck this tour
  17. i'm currently looking at the shows in philly and NYC and haven't found any decent seats at a reasonable price (and i'm only looking for a single ticket). i'm going to wait until the week of the show when more tickets are released and hopefully score a good seat. i remember waiting to buy tickets to the time machine tour in camden and ended up getting 18th row, dead center. if i can't get the seat that i want at a reasonable price, i won't go. screw it. i'll just buy the DVD and be done with it.
  18. i believe that the sections with an x after the number (section 115x) are obstructed view seats
  19. it's my favorite rush album. the lyrics are incredible too
  20. does anyone know the password for the venue presale at mohegan sun?
  21. I got mine through the regular sale, not VIP. A buddy of mine got 7th row on Geddy's side also. We have always had luck with musictoday. We each had third row in Philly last fall. I always try to get tickets as soon as they go on sale and the first 20 rows or so are always immediately gone. Are there any tricks to getting those seats without paying $300 for VIP? i got 18th row center to the time machine tour in camden, nj about a month or 2 after tickets went on sale. it seems like they hold a bunch of seats and release them randomly as the show date gets closer
