  1. Ryan, Prob gonna have a spare for Newcastle on the 21st. Yours for face value if you want it. I'll have a check around to make sure it is spare, and get back to you. Theres 6 or 7 of us going, so i just need to confirm numbers. Could meet at the venue if you want. Cheers, Bob. PS...You will not be dissapointed.
  2. WOW, Congratulations. Must be fantastic to see the goings on behind a Rush set up. Some great pictures too, well done. A day you'll never forget.
  3. Really looking forward to the tailgate thing. Not something that happens here in the UK. Especially not here in Scotland. Think the weather has a lot to do with it. Whats the deal with the tailgate? Do we just turn up in the parking lot with beers and join in the fun? Are we allowed to take beer etc into the venues at Boston and Washington? Thought we'd got everything figured out, but it looks like we got a lot more little things to get advice on. haha! Part of the adventure i guess. The point of the journey is not to arrive.
  4. Thanks to all who gave advice etc on our fast approaching trip across the pond. Everything all booked up now. Rented a houseboat in Boston for a couple of nights, worked out cheaper than a hotel in the same area. Something different eh? Guess we'll just have to wait now, and save some spending money of course. We're really looking forward to meeting up with fellow fans in both Boston and Washington. So if you see 6 (possibly tartan kilted) guys enjoying a wee dram or two be sure to make yourself known. We wont bite, honest. Thanks again for the advice and help over the past few weeks. See you all in September.
  5. QUOTE (Ron2112 @ May 12 2010, 02:57 PM) For the DC stop: cheaper but nice accommodations will be found in Manassas, VA. Look for something near the Battlefield Drive exit off I-66. Will give relatively easy access to both the city and the venue via I-66. Good luck! Booked up in to the Hampton Hotel at Dulles airport. Mainly because they have a picture of Rush on stage at the Jiffy Lube on the opening page of their website. Got a decent price, i think. We'll probably get a cab to and from the venue. Cant wait! Thank to all who have helped with our adventure so far.
  6. Lerxst69, Got that mate, check yours too. Could anyone point us in the direction of the Cheers bar from the tv show. Would be nice to have a beer in there at some point before the show. Thanks.
  7. QUOTE (LERXST69 @ May 8 2010, 03:59 PM) QUOTE (lyndale2112 @ May 8 2010, 01:03 AM) Would love to meet up with anyone from TRF. Oh! and if anyone has a fondness for some genuine scottish whiskey we'll be sure to have some in our sporrans. Yes Yes Yes I doooooooooo. I was planning a trip to Scotland for the spring of 2011, but I have to cancel it because of a certain trip to Rush in Boston. Scotland will just have to hold for a while. LERXST69, Would be good to meet up at some point prior to the Boston show and share the joys of a good malt. We'll be in town from noon till the gig and well beyond i would imagine. Your more than welcome to hook up. You travelling alone from Holland?
  8. Thanks for all the help so far folks. Been looking at booking into the Hampton Inn at Dulles. Doesn't seem too far from the venue and is very reasonably priced. The offer of a lift to and from the venue is greatly appreciated, but theres gonna been four of us so a cab would be a good option. I think? As for Boston, i think any of the airport hotels would be a safe bet. Not too far from the TD Garden. We'll be in town from lunchtime till late on the day of the Boston show so if theres gonna be a big meet, be sure to let us know. Would love to meet up with anyone from TRF. Oh! and if anyone has a fondness for some genuine scottish whiskey we'll be sure to have some in our sporrans.
  9. Does anyone know if there will be beer on sale within the venues at Boston and Washington. Being typical Scotts we are partial to drop or 2. Also, is staying at the airport hotels a practical option for these gigs? We plan just to use cabs to get around, What do you guys think?
  10. Thanks to all who have adviced on our trip so far. Keep it up please. Managed to get some pretty good tickets through the presales. Within 20 rows of the stage at both venues. Cant wait for September.
  11. Hey thanks, Good info. Think we'll be staying near the airport and just get a cab to the venue. Am i right in saying the tickets for Bos and Wash go on sale Monday?
  12. Myself and a few friends are traveling over from Scotland to attend the Boston and Washington shows with a couple of days in NYC in between shows. Flight over and internal flights are all booked. Anyone got any info on the two venues, accommodation or any hints and tips regarding the visiting cities. Thanks in advance.
