Scorching guitar riffs from Alex....check.

Insane bass lines from Geddy....check.

Thundering percussion from Neil....check.

5 out 10 parents don't approve....check.

So...Yes, RUSH is Heavy Metal.

No, it's not KK and Glenn, but who is?

Is Rush Metal?

That was great Rushman!

Back in the Eighties I used to buy every rock magazine that had anything to do with Rush in them.

I had a shitload of Kerrang! magazines back in the day.

One of them was filled with Rush stuff. I remember an interview in one of the magazines.

There was a black and white picture of Neil just posing for the camera, no kit.

Anyway there was a quote by him over the picture. It said, "I never thought of Rush as a heavy metal band."

I can't find my magazine collection which bums me out, but that quote always stuck in the back of my Rushhead.

They're more like hard rock. I'd even settle with progressive rock. They use keyboards in almost every song. If they had 2 guitarists, they'd be heavy metal.

I agree with this.

However, I do believe that the first couple (especially the debut) albums were heavy metal. After that, they're clearly heading into different territory.

Nice!

Even though I can't read Japanese, I still have my insane collection of BURRN! magazines!!!

Dude, I seriously have like every mag from the Eighties and into the Nineties.

Top notch sticker books and calendars, posters and some of the best color pictures of all time.

Damn, I'm addicted to BURRN! and Japanese cds.

"I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so.

Sincerely,

The Vapors
