RUSHHEAD666
No bullshit choices with this straight forward poll. I watched "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" on Blu-Ray last night. The movie is EPIC. Never gets old. Of course the answer for me is a no-brainer. Hell, I don't have a brain anyway. Clint Eastwood is the clear choice. Love, "Dirty Harry"
Xanadoood
Earl, this poll is sure to get people fired up! I choose Clint. I always felt John Wayne was a bit on the goofy side. Clint just comes across as more bad ass. And his movies are a lot edgier.
ozzy85
Eastwood by a country mile. Hard to top Dirty Harry. Or the Outlaw Josie Wales. I never got into John Wayne. Maybe he's a generation too far back for me.
RUSHHEAD666
Hey dooods!! I love firing up this cyber-crowd!! Let's just for fun think about a good old fashioned shootout at high noon. Clint V. John under a hot desert sun. The sweat slowly secreting from their brows. The paces begin with insipid silence in the dry, humid air. Backs turned, then the move is made and the trigger is pulled. Who wins and who dies. Eastwood will be standing tall as the gun smoke fills up his hot n' hairy nostrils. Wayne is laying on the dusty dirt like a catfish with a nail driven through it's head, getting ready to be skin stripped and then dipped in a nice country batter. ILSnwdog
The Duke was one bad motherf$@&er, but no one is badder than Clint. "I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk? thesweetscience
I said John Wayne but I love both actors and could watch anything by either of them. No love for the Duke? What a landslide. I think I will watch Big Jake tonight.

Cowtothesky
Easy for me - Clint Eastwood. But he is one of my favorite actors of all time. I think it is more of a generational thing. Go to an AARP forum and most will go with John Wayne.

Ancient Ways
Clint. Wayne has some great movies but Clint is more consistent and much more edgy.
theredtamasrule
Clint or Marion? Uh...I'll go with Clint. Love 'em both; Wayne was always the cut & dried hero (maybe excepting "The Shootist") and Clint was usually the hero with an edge or shade of gray, willing to take the law into his own hands. Maybe if Wayne had been of a different generation he would have allowed his screen persona to be colored a bit like Clint's. I think Wayne saw himself as his characters and Clint was more of a well rounded actor. But if Josey Wales or even Will Munney had a standoff with John T. Chance or Rooster Cogburn who would be left standing? We all know Wales would be spittin' baccer juice as Chance hit the ground with a hole in his head. But, damn, it's a wonderful way to spend a rainy weekend with a cold 12 pack with Rio Bravo AND The Outlaw Josey Wales on the tube...er, uh...lcd flatscreen.
