Rushman14
It took me years to get over the disappointment that was Signals, and always preferred GUP. But 28 years later, I think Signals is a true classic and holds up better than GUP.

Show Don't Tell
I choose not to decide, but I still have made a choice. Both albums are about tied for top spot with Power Windows and Moving Pictures also.
Jp93
Signals is vastly superior, it's an amazing album. GUP is great but the overall sound of the album itself (wayyy too much synth) just doesn't compare (I know Signals also uses quite a bit of synth, but it does so in a way that its not overpowering or overused). Losing It, Digital Man, Analog Kid, The Weapon... all seal the deal.
Working Man
I give Signals the edge. Every song (except Countdown) is great, while GUP has a few songs I don't care for.

GeddyRulz
Not even close! It's like asking which is better: a kobe steak or a frozen Boca veggieburger patty. Signals GUP is one of my bottom three Rush albums.

Mara
I went with option 3 (great idea there). I'd say Signals except for the last couple of songs. (I like them, but they are an obvious weak spot). Not a lame song on GUP.
