mandydog
Last might Metallica were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame(Shame?) and James Hetfield had something to say about missing inductees. He said this onstage in front of Jann Wenner and all the prudes from Rolling Stone. http://althouse.blogspot.com/2009/04/deep-...h-kiss-ted.html James Hetfield is my new best friend!! mfratt
That was an awesome speech. Some RRHOF execs probably had an embolism when he started throwing those names out there.

GeddyRulz
I thought they might mention Rush and a couple other slighted bands, and they didn't disappoint! Rush has had a very high-profile year and is definitely getting some long-overdue respect. It could happen!
Xanadoood
I wonder how many of the Hall judges are even aware that Metallica give thanks to Rush in the liner notes on " Master of Puppets"... i guess the bands that influenced them dont mean shit ridiculous

Presto-digitation
Classy of James. He's a good bloke. They deserve to be there, but it's wonderful to see someone vocalize those so conspicuously absent. Nice work.

Dbl-Strk
Love to see guys like Metallica giving props!!! The only thing I would`ve loved to see is James and the boys mentioning Cliff Burton!!! Ya`ll take care
red sector animal
The hall of fame is Pompus Bullshit, for Pompus Bullshit bands. Hopefully, real rockers like Rush will never grace those phoney halls. What joke that they put bands in there that are still around. And when all the popular bands are inducted and they need more celebrations, that hall is only going to get filled up with SHIT. Its all a phoney baloney waste of time. I'm surprised Rush fans, of all fans, dont see right through it.

EmotionDetector
Yup...it's so awesome to see METALLICA essentially sticking it to the Hall for all of the bands that have been ridiculously-overlooked. I remember reading some interview with the boys where they essentially admitted being embarrassed at the fact that they were making it into the HOF ahead of so many bands that influenced them in the first place. You can't blame them though...that IS embarrassing.
Rendclaw
I found the full speech given by all of the members of the band and started off with Cliff Burton's father. That is what you call an acceptance speech. People can downgrade it all they want, but in reality Metallica is deserving of being placed in the RRHOF, despite our personal feelings about certain bands that should be inducted. James went down the list of bands that should be in, and maybe with Metallica's induction it will open the door to those bands who should be there but are still on the outside looking in. Or maybe pigs will learn to fly first. Who knows?
HigherWater
Brace yourself RRHOF haters, Rush is going in within 5 years. The RS spread last year paved the way.
