Robert Fripp: 40 minutes of soundscapes, f*cking amazing. (Although I don't think this is good live music, some people were pretty bored :s)

Setlist:
The Incident

The Start of Something Beatiful
Russia on Ice
The Pills I'm Taking
Lazarus
Strip The Soul/3
Normal
Bonnie The Cat
Sound of Muzak
Trains

How cool would it be if PT played "Way Out Of Here" and Fripp joined them onstage and recreated the soundscapes he played on the album?

Oh yeah! I didn't think about that!

Fripp is brilliant when it comes to soundscapes, it was some of the best music I'd ever heard, people hated it, I was just mesmerized.

The Incident isn't my favorite PT album nor my favorite album of 2009, but the song mini-suite from "Great Expectations" through "Drawing the Line" is among the most perfect eight minutes of music in recent memory.

I looked for the sales numbers. While I can't seem to find how many have sold to date, I found these articles I thought I'd share.

do we know for sure they will be doing more US dates?

If they aren't... wow... I don't know. I'll be very pissed. I even have a setlist for them to play in Dallas and everything.

Ouch. That's not good. I know that having a second leg of the tour is contingent upon sales of this album. I wonder if every single person on my Christmas list would like The Incident as a gift? You think a 98-year-old Great Grandmother would like it? laugh.gif

As big a PT fan as I've become recently, I still haven't bought the new album. I'm waiting to see if they'll release the DVD-Audio version without the $100 packaging. There might be many more like me who are waiting for the same thing. If it isn't out by the holidays I'll buy the regular CD.

I am not all that surprised. Its a hard CD to get into. TI is near the bottom of the PT discography IMO.

Probably tied with In Absentia for my favorite PT album. I think it's brilliant and manage to listen to it about 3 times a day at work (although I do NOT like the second disc at all). Deadwing and OTSOL are probably tied as my least favorites.
