A bit off topic, but I saw that there was a sunrise service at Red Rocks in Colorado. That would have been beautiful.

We have a "Brunch" as a tradition in our family.  We had ham, scrambled eggs, and fruit.

BTW, whats dinner?  I always called it supper.

supper, dinner, same thing.

Technically, I believe dinner is sometimes referred to the meal served earlier in the day (lunch-time) and supper is served later.

So... lunch in some areas is referred to as "dinner" and dinner in some areas is referred to as "supper."

Just to be anal.

yes.gif

and where I live, the terms are interchangeable.

I love learning about other people, and languages.

This is cool.

That's why I put "What's dinner?" on the poll.

I didn't realise people had a special meal on Easter.

You learn something new every day.....

We only do a special meal at Christmas and maybe a special family or personal occasion.

Even in Canada, I never did the Thanksgiving, Easter and all that shite.

As goes the common saying in Scotland when you have visitors

"You'll have had yer tea?"

I am still soooooooo full.

Had some out of town company stop in so I rolled out quite the feast.

Roasted chicken

Steamed Beets

Green beans lightly painted in a butter and breadcrumb mixture

Garden salad

Perogies

Oven baked cauliflower with drizzled in nicely browned butter and breadcrumbs

Kapusta (a sweet cabbage/bacon/onion/tomato sauce) dish

And a nice little Oreo cookie cake for dessert (I admit I bought this, I suck at baking)

Leftovers tonight!

Good work detective!

I am half Polish (the bottom half).

Have you ever tried sweet kapusta with the ingredients I described? There are 101 variations of course but the pork/onion/sweet tomato one is nothing short of amazing.

edit: Oh and I would have called the beets 'buraki' except I never knew how to spell that until I just looked it up. *boo-ratch-ki* So many fun to say words in Polish!

I can see you headbanging and quietly singing "Laid to Rest" at the dinner table.
