Cheap Trick

Cheap Trick are in my top ten of all bands.

Just saw them in New York City for the 35th Anniversary of "At Budokan" and am seeing them again in August in Pittsburgh.

They are incapable of doing a bad live show.

Cheap Trick kicks butt.

I've seen them a few times always as openers for other bands...Joan Jett in '86, STP in '94(?)..and once more that I can't remember (too much <!--emo&:hail:--><img src='http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink38.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='trink38.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:hail:--><img src='http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink38.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='trink38.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:hail:--><img src='http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink38.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='trink38.gif' /><!--endemo--> )...They always put on a great show and I even got a pick from Rick Neilson.

I know Cheap Trick opened for Meatloaf in 94 with Pursuit of Happiness taking the stage first (in my city anyway). Cheap Trick was the highlight for me. Live at Budokan RULED back in the day!

Most of us here know just how big "At Budokan" was when it came out and what a great live album it is. Today's recommendation is for you to find "Cheap Trick At Budokan: The Complete Concert". What a great album and show. These guys definitely deserve their spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The 1997 self-titled album nailed their legacy for me. I was totally blown away by how good it was, they totally caught me off guard. I went back and listened to their entire discography. It is superb.

I just read a quote from Robin Zander.

He was asked, "So, what does the new album sound like?"

He replied, "1975".

How great does that sound...a stripped down rockin' Cheap Trick album.

Really looking forward to new music from them.

Listened to the new Cheap Trick album, "Bang Zoom, Crazy...Hello" this morning.

Is truly is one of their best album in decades as the reviews are saying.

Robin Zander's voice sounds great.

Rick and Tom's playing are solid...great guitar work.

Daxx's drumming is classic Cheap Trick sounding.

The album is classic Cheap Trick but still fresh sounding.

The album really captures the spirit of those early Cheap Trick albums.

Happy Cheap Trick Day everyone!

I may have to look into this new one. Cheap Trick is a band that has never really been on my radar at all, but I am moderately interested, at this point.

Cheap Trick is totally worth digging into. There are a ton of great songs beyond the popular hits. They are a band that endured for a reason.

Just saw Cheap Trick this weekend on CMT (country music channel) on the show Crossroads. They were paired up with some random country chick to do a set.

Elo Kiddies!

So, with the return of yours truly, that can only mean one thing...

...it is marathon time once again.

And what could be better than Cheap Trick's catalogue to start back with?

I would like to dedicate this marathon to one of TRF's newest members, who happens to be a huge Cheap Trick fan as well...Surrender '74

May is a big Cheap Trick month for me . .

May '78 was the first time I heard them - in the car, coming home from having a blast at the giant arcade in Asbury Park, and Surrender comes on the radio - I loved it right off the bat, but when I heard "rollin' numbers rock and rollin', got my Kiss records out", that was it for me ..

Exactly a year later - May 1979 - I saw them at Convention Center in Asbury Park

One of the all-time great bands - and Robin Zander is criminally underrated as a vocalist
