GhostGirl
QUOTE (Finbar @ Jan 17 2008, 12:27 PM) A fantastic show, and the movie is actually my all-time favourite movie. Way to get this back on topic, finbar. Thank you. I love the movie too.

Awful show!! I think the only reason people over 12 claim to like it is it's cool to do so. Gimme retro-Hanna-Barbera stuff anyday. Yeah, all the cool kids are talking about Spongebob these days. Seriously. Here in Britain especially with the Emo types it's very popular. No idea if they actually watch the show but they love the merchandise. What do you mean by emo types? Anyways, watch the episode "Survival of the Idiots" and tell me it's not at least mildly amusing... You know what Emo is right? I guess they think it looks cool to wear almost completely black with bits of white and then wear a bright yellow Spongebob belt or handbag. Well yeah, but see, it didn't morph (or get bastardized) into a lifestyle or type of clothing until like... 2002. It was actually a really good genre of music starting in the early 90's or so... here are some pictures of definitive emo bands: Sunny Day Real Estate: http://kymieamuse.files.wordpress.com/2007/05/sunnydayrealestate.jpg The Appleseed Cast (their album Mare Vitalis is one of the best... ever): http://www.newberryphotography.com/pp/images/20060129143019_appleseed_cast_jn.jpg Mineral: http://www.mtv.com/shared/media/images/artist/p/promise_ring/az_official/281x211.jpg As you can see... they look nothing like this f*ckin "emo" gay: http://www.nndb.com/people/197/000098900/gerard-way-1-sized.jpg Ahh yeah, I would never call those people in the first bands "Emos" though even if that's the name of the genre of music because they don't look like what most people would call an Emo. In fact Gerard Way (That's his name right?) doesn't even dress like the stereotypical Emo anymore from what I've seen.

Jen Sawyer
This thread rocks!!! Spongebob is seriously the greatest show ever! I think my favorite episode (at least at the moment) has got to be "As Seen on TV." Elderly Citizen: Hey, you! Spongebob: Top of the morning, oldster. Elderly Citizen: Hey! I saw you on TV last night. Announcer: New, Bran Flakes. Bold, new taste. Bran Flakes. Spongebob: You did? Elderly Citizen: Yeah. You were on a commercial. Spongebob: You're right! Wow, he recognized me. Elderly Citizen: Yup. See ya later, Bran Flakes. What a nice cereal box.

Hatchetaxe&saw
Our nearly 2-year old has just gotten into this, he loves it. It's absolutely hilarious. If I sing, "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea"... .......He runs around in circles shouting, "Bob, bob, bob" Mr. Krabs: No, don't shoot!! OK, shoot me but don't take me money!! or Patrick: Math is power. The Karate Island episode with the late Pat Morita is a classic.

The pioneers used to ride these babies for miles!" Squidward: Spongebob.... there were no stupid pioneers! Spongebob runs him over on the rock. Ha! The new episodes are crap. The ones where SB's voice is high and very different I don't like. There was also at least one episode where SB called Patrick "Pat" and it was just awful. Say what you will, this show is awesome I don't care if it's for kids or whatever, this is funny stuff. I can sing the theme song on command, can YOU?
