Keep Nick Raskulinecz?

Nick certainly brought life into Snakes & Arrows and brought it places it probably never would have gone. How do you feel about his production of Snakes & Arrows?

They seem to be moving in a good direction with Nick, and enjoyed working with him. I say ride that wave.

I really can't imagine Terry Brown coming back, and I also can't imagine it being a good thing at this point in time. Nick's the man!

As much as I love Terry Brown's work with them, it's been, um, 25 years . Who knows if it would even still work?

 

 

On the other hand S&A is easily their best album since the 80's. Why mess with such a good thing???

Keep Nick. Never before has a Rush album had such high quality as far as production, and sound value.

I'll bet they will keep Nick R. for another album. And I'm perfectly fine with that, he did a great job with S&A. But other than that, I like the idea of bringing in somebody completely new, and maybe not even a traditional rock producer like Rick Rubin either...maybe try something completely out of the water for what Rush normally does.

 

In the other thread, I suggested Brian Eno or Timbaland. Either of those would be great choices.

I say keep him. As long as he does not start trying to move them in another direction and changing them into something they are not. I don't think that will happen though.

What does anyone expect will happen if TB produces again? That's like getting together with your ex girlfriend after 25 years and expecting it all to be "just like it was".

 

Rush did amazing things with TB, and they've continued to do amazing things without him. Move forward, I say. Not backward.

 

Another go with Nick would be cool. Seems like the band enjoyed working with him, and everyone was extremely pleased with the outcome. Sounds like a winner to me.
