apetersvt
QUOTE (Finbar @ Jan 17 2007, 12:47 PM) QUOTE (kbomb106 @ Jan 17 2007, 09:22 AM) I'm confused. Why is "depends on the music" an option when the question is "do you like the title?" They could name the album Diarrhea Faucet and it could be the best damn album they ever made, but it would still be a (no pun intended) crappy title. Diarrhea Faucet would be the best album name ever!!! Agreed.
treeduck
QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Jan 17 2007, 09:14 AM)I'm also of the opinion that it's made-up, but I contend that it's possible. Rarely do working titles make it anyway. IMO, it means that Neil would like something better, but this name is reserved unless he can't come up with anything else (which he's usually good at). another question I have (assuming that "Snakes and Arrows" is used) is if there will be a song with the same name? (singing in the key of C) Snakes and arrows, pumpkins and marrows this whole religious thing drives me to gardening and wheelbarrows Starlings and sparrows, Conlan Nancarrow He played the piano like God though the religious connection is narrow Snakes and Arrows I practice law like Charles Darrow but it makes me feel spirtual inside when I think of Mia Farrow Starlings and sparrows, pumpkins and marrows my ungodly garden sucks ass because the soil is so sallow send me some snakes and some arrows and i'll lead a new life across the sea in Jarrow

treeduck
I still think these could turn out to be the lyrics to the title song...if there is a title song... fledgehog
It ultimately depends on the music, but...couldn't they have chosen something other than snkes? *shiver*

muff2112
QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jan 16 2007, 10:28 PM) Snakes and Arrows -- if that's indeed the title -- is kinda of a peculiar name for a Rush album, but I don't hate it. If it ties in with the theme of the lyrics then that's cool. What counts is the music. If this album smokes they can name it Shits and Giggles for all I care. what does a typical rush album title sound like? i thinks snakes and arrows is a great name
Presto-digitation
Yes. Different for them. i like it.
mfratt
It just doesnt sound like a Rush album....Caress of Steel, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permenant Waves, Moving Pictures, Roll the Bones, Counterparts, Vapor Trails, and all, "sound" like Rush albums. "Snakes and Arrows" does not. I suppose it may depend if Neil reveals some secret meaning behind them through the lyrics, though.
Inkanta
I have a snake phobia. I can barely type the word. I don't dislike the creatures and they're very beneficial to the planet. But just the word or a picture sends shivers down my spine. So needless to say.....yikes. I'm worried.
PW_Guitarist
Points for originality. I really like it, much better thant T4E, which I thought was kind of "clunky" and technical for an album title. I don't know what it means yet, but I am sure it will become clear once we get the album. One thing is for sure, from what I hear everywhere, expectations are EXTREMELY high for this album, especially from long-time fans...
the masked drummer
I like at at face value, even if I didn't know the meaning behind it, cuz it sounds kinda like voodoo or black magic. In short, it has mystique.
neptune
It's different from their previous titles, but hopefully the music will be so good that no one will really care.

vital signz
I love it.....quite simply it suggests stealthy and to the point. I think it could be be a great compliment to the music which could be from all we are hearing heavy and syncopated and the lyric which Neil has suggested has deep religious and meaning of life influence...sometimes curvy sometimes to the point!
