Pictures was live, but I included it because a recorded version wasn't available until many years later. Tough to pick one here, though the last three were relatively forgettable.

Brain Salad was awesome. You should have included Emerson Lake and Powell which was best thing ELP in any carnation did since BSS. Black Moon was great. In the Hot Seat was a disaster.

I'd say Brain Salad but I still say Palmer worked just as well as Powell.

Brain Salad Surgery is just a sick album...not that Trilogy and Tarkus and most of the others aren't, but still....

I'm a life long ELP fan. They were my first live concert in 1972 and my favourite album is their debut. The Barbarian is quite probably the most fantastic opening song on a debut album ever.

Great band and well worth trawling around youtube for some great videos.

I like the debut the best.

Hey something we agree on!

Love that piano/bongo intro of Trilogy! Hoedown is is an amazing adrenalin 2.gif ! How do you all think Tarkus stacks up against other side long epics?
