Geds Posted February 11, 2006 Share Posted February 11, 2006 We have a term for what my boss always does. We call it ganking. When he does something like that we say he "ganked" us. See, he gets all fired up about something he wants to do. For instance, he wanted the whole shop to go play paintball together. None of us wanted to do it. He kept trying to talk us into it for months, and when he finally talked us all into it, we had it all squared away where we were gonna rent equipment from, we were gonna do it on my 40 acre farm, which has several acres of woods, and i even had the local bar was gonna bring out their bbq grill and everything. after we got it all set up, he says.... Nahh, i don't really feel like it anymore. None of us wanted to do it in the first damn place. His idea, and he ganked us. i was just trying to be funny and gank the thread....all that build up.....and i don't really wanna do it. yall go ahead... He's still my boss, and he still does stuff like that all the time, only now we just don't put any stock in these grand ideas of his because we know he's gonna gank us. In fact, now when he starts off with "hey, you know what would be fun?" I usually answer "ganking YOU for a change?" boy that pisses him off. But thats just his personality, we've come to find out. He likes to take on big projects, but never has the fortitude to actually bear them out. Good thing he's the boss and not a worker bee like me, or the big work projects would never get done.
