  1. Hey! It's me, the GF! These are GREAT!!!! Please keep em coming. I'm new to RUSH, courtesy of cygnalschick, but have loved this fan community and everyone I've met since the first tribute show she took me to. And I got to see them live for R40. My beautiful woman proves to me every day how sexy and wonderful RUSH fans are. All that I've met are well-read and humble, too. I'm hoping to make this a fun project. So far, it's off to a great start!!!
  2. Hey all! So, my girlfriend is currently doing a research project for her college psychology class. She has chosen to create a survey that measures 'the sexual satisfaction of Rush fans' :-D She is tired of hearing the female Rush fans don't exist, and that male Rush fans are loners who can't get a date! Her professor's response to the idea was, "Do you think you can even find 100 Rush fans??" Lol I told her she should choose a clever name for the project...maybe include a play on words using Rush lyrics :-) I am wanting to get suggestions straight from you guys! Also, if you're interested in taking the survey I'll post the details here when they become available :-) Thanks for your help!!!
  3. Been awhile since I've posted here, but I gotta say: As a long time DT fan (since early 90's), I think this new album is one of their best. Whoever's saying it's not that good is simply nuts And as far as Mike Mangini goes, I love the dude I've seen them 3 times this tour and he is so much fun to watch play. He just has a great time playing and brings a whole new energy to the band. The guy is not arrogant, he's freakin' AMAZING, lol, a genius really. He can do things with one hand that most people can't do with 2 . I have nothing against MP, but Mangini's drumming and energy has sort of rejuvenated DT in a sense. I haven't really gotten into their last few albums, so I've enjoyed the hell outta this one And I got to meet the guys at a meet and greet. They were all very cool
  4. Haha, I'm planning to have them sign a poster for me. I don't think I'll bring up Portnoy, lol.
  5. I love so many genres of music, but Rush remain my favorite of them all. Besides Rush... Yes Dream Theater Iron Maiden J. Priest There's really too many to name here! These will have to suffice.
  6. Hi everyone! My friend and I are trying to sell our original tickets for the Bass Concert Hall show. We ended up getting meet & greets, so we gotta get rid of the others. I will say they were pretty pricey, but we may be willing to negotiate a little. Anyone interested please pm me. Much appreciated! -Luann Also, feel free to email me at Luannw1979@gmail.com
  7. QUOTE (MCM @ Oct 3 2011, 05:56 PM) QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Oct 2 2011, 02:12 AM) So, I've had a chance to listen to the new album a good few times through, and I think it's the best stuff they've done in years There is really a renewed energy and vibe to it.... I had started to get a little burned out on DT, but this album has changed that. I'm f'ing loving it Favorites include: "On the Backs of Angels," "Bridges in the Sky," "Breaking All Illusions," and "This is the Life." Pretty damn amazing if you ask me!! Amen to good music! Good to see you around!!! Haha, thanks! I sure wish I had more time on my hands these days to chit-chat here on the forum. I'm back in school and stay pretty busy. Anyway, I'm not going anywhere!!

  9. I personally thought "Paradise Lost" was awesome.... hoping this one either surpasses it or is just as good
  10. QUOTE (-Ender- @ May 24 2011, 05:38 PM) You all get depressed AFTER seeing a Rush show? Really? What the hell are you gonna do when Geddy DIES? http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff508/blackcc/cmonson.jpg Don't say such morbid things We all know it'll happen one day but let's not focus on that. I'm trying to enjoy what Rush still has to offer us until they truly decide to hang it up I think we ALL know it can't last forever, but the impression they've left on me personally, as well as how much they've enriched my life, is something that will be with me to the end "Celebrate the moment, as it turns into one more"
  11. Thanks for the responses ya'll. I'm actually on the track to getting serious help for this. Spent last night in the hospital and now have medical clearance to enter rehab
  12. Yes, this is totally random but I'm needing some advice from those who I feel I have the most in common with- Rush girls/women. I've been on this board for over 5 years now and have made some great friends here. Tonight I've done something that I vowed to never do again.... and I need to just tell someone. Who better than you Rush girls? So... without going into great detail, can someone share an experience similar to the one I'm having? - realizing you're not perfect, and in fact are weak. In need of advice
  13. QUOTE (Queen of Megadon @ May 7 2011, 08:38 PM) Hey Seatmate RGLT! I heard "Sad Song" today on the radio...it sounded like a 'grownup' version of The Cars. It pleased me. Looking forward to hearing more. I heard this song too and though it was The Cars. I really liked the sound of it
  14. QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Oct 13 2010, 11:34 AM) I'm excited for our South American compadres. Enjoy the shows friends, and greetings from Canada.
  15. QUOTE (different strings @ Oct 9 2010, 04:36 AM) QUOTE (Cygnalschick @ Oct 8 2010, 04:38 AM) I am wondering the same thing! I am in Chile and will be at the show here. I started a thread asking if any Chilenos would want to meet up beforehand, but have gotten no responses Hi there CC you are a lucky girl being in chile right now and enjoy the show. Hi DS! Yes, I guess I did luck out on this one. I thought for awhile that I wasn't going, but luckily I was able to make it happen. Can't wait to experience the South American crowd!
  16. QUOTE (Merely Space @ Oct 7 2010, 12:04 PM) Language may be a barrier. But I know at least a couple of brazillians frequent these boards. Haha, I typed my thread in Spanish and English Got one response so far!

  19. QUOTE (thelocator @ Sep 23 2010, 08:36 PM) QUOTE (Boots @ Sep 23 2010, 07:33 PM) I haven't heard of them. Are they as good as the Deftones? lol...No way. Lol, the question is more like: Are The Deftones as good as them?? There's actually not much comparison, imo.
