But none of his ballad type tracks on WCD are half as good as the two big ones on Invisible Touch! They were probably just still salty that Peter went and knocked them off of number one with So as soon as they got there, lol. they aren't even half as good as the ones on Phil initial big 4 records. Yea pete's sucess must have been sudden and annoying. ESPECIALLY to Tony banks. that dude is cold and intense, lol Mick 1

Nothing gets by without his approval, lol. He does seem kinda neurotic, but not in an awful way I think. I think I remember hearing they sent Peter a “congratulations” letter after he knocked them off, with a choice name for their ex singer, lol. In truth though I don’t think there’s really any bad blood there, just a fair rivalry. I think Tony even half begrudgingly gave a speech at some big Prog magazine event when Peter won an award at it a few years ago.

"Me? Please you try getting tony Banks to do something he doesn't wanna do!!!!" Mick 1

Wow… imagine it on Duke somewhere… 1

We’re probably better off that it didn’t go down that way, well, everyone except Tony 1

Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Childish Gambino - Bando Stone And The New World Relistening to every new album I’ve listened to this year (65!) to cement my feelings on my ongoing ranking so I can share it by new years. This one was middle of the pack for me, but I could see it moving slightly up. Lots of life and vivacity loosely held together by a not super apparent concept about either a failing relationship and the kids involved and/or a singer and a survivalist and her kid trying to navigate a treacherous jungle. Tons of diversity genre wise too. Fav tracks probably Lithonia and No Excuses.
Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Willow - Empathogen Gotta be top ten on the year. WOW.
Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Idles - Tangk My first thought was it’s a bit Radiohead, then I saw Nigel Godrich produced it, of course! But it also rocks way harder and the songwriting is nothing like that band. Just some similar textural techniques going on.
