Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Opeth - The Last Will And Testament No I think I do like this a lot. Not more than Pale Communion or Blackwater Park, but a lot still. Ian Anderson being all over this thing is a massive strength. 1

Seriously everytime i really start to dig it.......it just......stops. i wish it was expanded just a few minutes. i know that's odd. also.........could be unpopular but the growls don't need to be there. it just feels like he went "OH here's your growls now SHUT UP!!!!" to the fans. Mick I’ll need a few more listens to make a judgement on the length, but I like the growls! Maybe I have some bias from not having heard most of their discography yet, but it balances between Blackwater’s brutality and PC’s intrigue and melodicism for me, so I dig it. I also just read through the lyrics (which were not easy to parse, thank you genius.com), and I do really like the concept. The extra twist at the very end is sick.

Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Mastodon - Crack The Skye The Last Baron is awesome of course, but being a palindrome doesn’t make you the best song on the album. I think I prefer The Czar. 1
bluefox4000 Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Opeth-The Last Will and Testament (7/10) Can you be both satisfied and disappointed with an album? yea cause that's this album. Mick 2

Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Gojira - Magma A little soft in the middle but the first four or so plus Lowlands are more than worth the price of admission.

Mick That would be me with Muse’s last album. Do I love it? Of course I do. It’s Muse! Is it what I wanted or expected or better? No, not at all really, though a couple tracks could be. 1
