Rush - Hold Your Fire

I’m not sure why exactly, but this album has never hit me harder than it just did. All these years after I first heard it, and somehow it keeps unraveling.

Rest in peace, Neil.

Hold Your Fire and Roll The Bones are their two albums that emotionally impact me the most. Snakes And Arrows is getting there as well. Vapor Trails also.

Opeth

Blackwater Park (8/10)

Deliverance (10/10)

Ghost Reveries (10/10)

Yes i'm bringing back ratings (I missed doing them, lol)Opeth is becoming a fav band now.  all 3 are great records.  Not as big on BP though as some.  Kinda sags in the middle for me.  It starts and ends strong.  Deliverance and GR are masterpieces though.

I’m not a huge Marillion fan, I just have a few of their records I listen to from time to time. I would take it if it was free I guess, lol.

Worked from home for part of the day (had to take dad to physical therapy so that ate up some time) so I got to listen to some more vinyl.  First up was something I bought over the weekend in the "New Vinyl" bin at my local record store so I assume it was newly released:

Sabaton - The Tour to End All Tours

Live Sabaton recorded at one show in Amsterdam.  Always like my live albums recorded at one show - not from a number of shows on the same tour (or even worse, over several tours).  So having it recorded at one show was a plus.  Plus I just aw them back in May opening for Judas Priest so this brought back good memories.  Sabaton live is a fun band.  Decent album.  Next up it was in the moving box's.  First out:

Bon Jovi - Bon Jovi

This has "Runaway" & "She Don't Know Me" both of which are enjoyable.  The rest of the album is filler IMO.  Last out for the day:

Survivor - Vital Signs

Its been years since I listened to this.  I remember the 3 songs that got airplay ("I Can't Hold Back", "High On You" & "The Search is Over") were good and they were much better than I remembered.  They are very, very good.  But what really impressed me was all the songs that did not get airplay.  I did not rememberer them at all and they were all enjoyable.  Not a bad song in the batch.  I will have to go back to this album and give it another spin.  Don't know how it feel through the cracks - its much better than I remembered.

This and Eye of The Tiger are the only Survivor albums I own.  I have listened to one other album (I think it was their first) on youtube.  Got to find the time to try to explore some of their other work.

Clearly the album of the day was Vital Signs.

Premonition is my favourite and Caught in the Game is good. The two after Vital Signs are solid as well.

Rolling Stones-Exile On Main Street (7/10)

I love like when there are proper songs on here (Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, Sweet Virginia, Loving Cup, Shine A Light)  but there's just too many like short blues jams for me to fully enjoy this one.
