I saw them on all of those respective tours, and on SC they were well below par. They absolutely killed it on the UA tour. Criminally underrated album. 1

Segue Myles Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 The Cure- Disintegration The Cure- Songs Of A Lost World I heard a lot about the new Cure album having a strong connection to Disintegration, which is an album I regard as maybe one of the five best musical recordings of the 80s, and basically ever. So, I immersed myself in Disintegration, and was reminded again just how magnificent this band and album is. Straight after this, I put in the new album, Songs Of A Lost World. I am beyond shocked. It's f***ing brilliant and perfect and so, so, so utterly gorgeous! Sumptuous misery, no band does thus better than The Cure. This could restart a new era for me and The Cure. As a teen I was obsessed with them and this new albu....bloody hell! Album of the year...decade...century...millennium...epoch... 3
Segue Myles Posted November 4, 2024 Posted November 4, 2024 Oh, and I played: Pearl Jam- Dark Matter Now my second favourite album of the year. 1

If you told me this was an album I accidentally missed for decades, I'd believe you. You're telling me...as their debut nears 50 years of age...THAT THIS IS A NEW ALBUM?!?!?! f***ing SPEECHLESS. I've never forgotten The Cure, it's just I didn't have true reason to be pulled back into their discography. Also, Disintegration has been unlistenable to me for nearly twenty years due to the fact it triggers some past traumas. Lately, I've eased myself back into it. And then THIS COMES OUT?!?! It's perfect, serendipitous timing that I finally got back to Disintegration and then they do this. I'm in awe, I've not loved a new album like I do this since the last Fleet Foxes! Or Midnights... 2

That’s awesome! I’ve never been a massive Cure fan. Nothing against them, just never broke into full fledged fandom from a general appreciation, though I’ve long harbored an admiration for Disintegration (listening again now actually). I think this new one might be the record to pull me into the rest of their discography. I like, immediately wrote a new song after I listened to it last Friday, without barely having to try, lol. 1
