goose
D-backs pitcher Caleb Smith becomes the second MLB pitcher to be suspended for foreign substances. By suspending Smith, who has a 5.20 ERA with 56 walks for an Arizona team that is 40 games out of playoff contention sends a clear message from MLB brass of zero tolerance for cheating. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/diamondbacks-caleb-smith-becomes-second-pitcher-suspended-by-mlb-after-ejection-for-foreign-substance/

invisible airwave
I get the feeling that the As playoff hopes were crushed along with Bassit's face.Feel your pain man. Mariners are collapsing too. Here's a third AL west arm for the Predator meme with the middle as "Trashtros suck." I'm just hoping for the first above 500 season since 2015 especially when two seasons since were one game below because of manager's tired "turn the page" philosophy. Chicken hawk
Congrats to the newlywed Boston Bruins winger Chris Wagner, who looked like he had a great time at his wedding last weekend that included a few cameo appearances from Boston Bruins teammates like Charlie McAvoy, and former Bruins teammates like Torey Krug. invisible airwave
Just discovered these albums/teams/bands etc described by TV shows videos on Youtube. Spongebob has one for the MLB season so far and mine is accurate even with Showtime stepping in for Kid Fish. goose
A's produced a slew of runs last night against the Blue Jays, carrying an 8-2 lead into the 8th inning. :dweez: But once again, the Oakland bull pen crapped the bed and gave up 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th. :rage: A's bats got two more runs in the top of the 9th to take the lead! :7up: Only to lose in the bottom of the 9th on a 3-run bomb from former teammate Marcus Semien.

Principled Man
Brewers 4Cardinals 0 Adrian Houser has just thrown the team’s first complete game shutout since.....a very long time ago. Exactly 1,011 games since the last Brewers pitcher did it (Kyle Lohse, 2014) - a MLB record. The shocking news is that manager Craig Counsell actually let Houser go all the way! :laughing guy: 100 pitches (76 strikes), 7 K’s, 3 singles allowed, 0 walks. IMPRESSIVE. Principled Man
Dan Vogelbach & The Brewers 6St. Louis Cardinals 5 Down 5-1 and seemingly doomed to lose, the Milwaukee Brewers found another way to win in dramatic fashion. The Crew blew a great opportunity in the 8th, but managed to score a run and get the bases loaded in the 9th. Enter pinch-hitter Dan Vogelbach, the backup 1st baseman and fresh off two months on the IL. Second pitch, right down the middle..... The Brewers' first walk-off Grand Slam since 2008. :sundog: :sundog: :sundog: :sundog: Edited September 5, 2021 by Principled Man

The Analog Cub
It's nice to know that even when the Cubs are tanking they can still beat the shit out of the Pirates. I don't have that level of confidence against the Reds but screw it, it's a three day weekend :hail:

Of course I hope it never does. I will say though, outside of Rafael "Gas Can" Montero the bullpen has been really, really good. They're by far the biggest reason the team is as good as they are. It's certainly not the last in the AL in batting average "hitters".
