taurus Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 David Bowie - 1980 Floor Show. I played that "Dollars in Drag" vinyl boot to death back in the eighties. Now YT has the original Midnight Special show in near perfect quality. I miss the comedy bits that TAKRL put in between the songs though 1
yyz305 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 This is one of my all time favourite shows. Super playing, stretching out on some of the tunes. 1
pjbear05 Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 A trio of oldies on DVD: Windham Hill In Concert: From 1998, various pieces recorded at Red Rocks and Wolf Trap. Kraftwerk: Minimum-Maximum. A 2 disc set from their 2004 tour.
New_World_Man Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I just got back from seeing Becoming Led Zeppelin on IMAX at the movie theater. After the Beatles Led Zeppelin was probably the next band I really got into when I was younger. Anyway, this was a really great documentary. The interviews with the three surviving band members were great and the live footage was great too. As the title sort of implies it's about how the band came to be and their first year or so as a band. I highly recommend it to any Led Zeppelin fan. 2
Timbale Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Not sure this exactly counts in the concert film category... but I just watched the documentary Woodstock 99: Peace, Love and Rage. What a horror show. The 90s, of all the decades in popular music, has always been my least favourite...and watching even the handful of minutes of footage of acts like Limp Biscuit and Kid Rock was like complete torture to my ears. It's a great doc, however, and just an insane snapshot of a moment in culture that I still struggle to understand.
Chicken hawk Posted March 27 Posted March 27 I want to see " Working Man" this Saturday . (Jason Statham)
yyz305 Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Very brave - recording and releasing the second show they've ever played. I love this, warts and all..!
