I like a number of disco hits from the 70s. Here's a short list off the top of my head in no particular order except the last one which I came to love waaay after the fact.

Lowdown (But I feel it's more disco adjacent than died in the wool disco. Basically a masterpiece.)

Dancing Queen (ABBA decides to go disco and ends up writing a song that symbolizes the genre for eternity.)

Stayin' Alive (And really a bunch of others by the Bee Gees. They were titans of the form.)

Disco Inferno (Unbeatable rhythmic hook, that awesome chorus with horns, and some kick-ass guitar solo licks at the end - in a disco song)

More, More, More (A paean to sexed up and coked up disco excess and it's also the origin of that great "Steal My Sunshine" sample.)

And my favorite...

If I Can't Have You (just the best)

I wouldn't call Dancing Queen disco. Summer Night City, Voulez Boys and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! wouod certainly qualify.

Well. Since i posted that song earlier in this thread. I disagree.

What a kick ass song. I cant think of any other songs that start with the chorus as the opening line?

Cecilia, Simon and Garfunkel?

Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas

Well done

At this rate the topic could be a thread.

Or a poll, if hiwater stops by.

Not my point (the poster mentioned songs regardless of genre), but it's never a bad idea to veer away from disco. ;)

Ode to the state of the US economy, circa 1975

Inflation getting higher

Makes it hard on the buyer

Unemployment on the rise

Gasoline engines filled with flies

Rent being paid late

Please

Let the dollar circulate

Interest rates going up

Seems like no value in the buck

Meat prices up to stay

Utilities are on their way

Airlines are running late

Please

Let the dollar circulate
