A British man plunged to his death from a bridge in Spain while creating social media content, local authorities said, in a deadly incident that underscores the potential perils of the live-action era of the internet.  The 26-year-old, who has not yet been identified, was scaling the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge in central Spain when he fell.

The man and a fellow Briton, age 24, had come to the Talavera de la Reina area to climb the bridge to “create content for social networks,” Macarena Muñoz, the local councilor for citizen security, said in a government statement.

I don't even like to drive across those types of bridges (I haven't been to Spain, lol) because they're interesting and its hard to keep eyes on the road!  I can't imagine climbing this.

So, Neil Gaiman is a creep as well?

”I trusted you!  You were the chosen one!”

His writing always creeped me out, never finished the 2 books of his I tried to read years ago.  Not surprised.

A little while ago, my elderly neighbor, "Dave", came across the street to say hi....and to hand me a business card for some political-religious organization that he really likes.  He was even dressed in the company's hat and shirt.  My neighbor is quite the zealot, and I know that he's been itching to talk politics/religion with me for years.

He went away disappointed.  I told him that we (my elderly mother and I) like him and his wife very much, but that we just don't talk politics & religion.  He had a blank look on his face, so I changed the subject and we chatted about other things for a while until he finally meandered back home.

It's such a simple concept, Dave.  Neighbors get along best when they DON'T talk politics & religion.

This is even more true today than when you posted this. :sigh:

A couple of dense Tom Brady stans online were deflecting about how bad he is at announcing games with the usual "But he has the most rings" malarkey.

So?  John Smoltz was a great pitcher.  Your point, you dense jabronis?

Prices at Five Guys are a little out of control!  I havent been there in like 4 years, but still . . .  .

My 90 yr old mom fell on Sunday and fractured her wrist in multiple places.  She is having trouble getting around due to a huge cast and will be moving from her independent living apartment to Assisted living on Monday.  My daughter and I were packing up stuff for the move today and had a late lunch together, it was really nice!  But gosh, $11.65 for a double cheeseburger? (And then they had a tip jar on the counter AND asked to put a tip on my card.  I did the jar but Im not doing both!)  The dial what ever you want soda machine was fun, though!

My mother broke her ankle a few days before Christmas.  She's staying at a care center a mere six blocks away from our house, so I visit her at least 3 times a day.

This evening, my mother's roommate fell asleep in her wheelchair and slid halfway out of it.  She called for help, and I was there, so I made sure that she was stable and then I went out into the hallway and yelled for help.

Two young staff members, about 100 feet away, heard me.  I strongly waved for them to come to the room right away.  They walked at a normal pace down the hall.  I called out to them, "She's falling out of her chair!"  The one staff member said, "We're coming..." as they continued to walk at a normal pace.

I will probably report them in the morning.

I'm sorry to hear that about your mom, she sounded pretty mobile before this.  She's really lucky to have you so close!  Yeah, that's not a real appropriate response to a fall that is happening.

My mom has been staying with us until Monday, when her room is ready.  It's been challenging but we had to laugh because she likes to watch this show about Dr. Pol, a Michigan vet.  Mom decided today she doesnt like Dr. Pol's son because his sideburns are out of control! It's a weird dislike to take on!

It's a long story.....

After spending 16 miserable days at an incompetent care center, my mother is coming home.  The staff, social workers and administration all told me that releasing her to home care must be approved by the doctor in charge.  She visits the care center on Tuesdays.

I sat in my mother's room all day today, waiting for the doctor to come in and discuss it.  At 5 pm, an administrator came in and said, "Dr. Fisher wants to know why you want to see her. "

Already getting mad, I said, "To finalize Mom's discharge. We need her approval. "

"Oh, she doesn't need to see you for that.  She will sign off on whatever the Physical Therapy team says."

f***ing BUREAUCRATS MUST DIE!!!  😡😡😡

Sad face because your mom and you had to deal with this center. I'm glad she is going to be receiving better care.Thinking of you both.

I have portable wheelchair ramps leading to my front door, so I can take my mother in and out of the house while she’s rehabbing her ankle.  I have to prop open the storm door in order for the one ramp to fit.

I took Mom to a doctor’s appointment today, and when we came home, I saw that I had left the storm door AND the main door WIDE OPEN.

A full hour of “open house”, so to speak…..

I hope she is doing better with her ankle! Hope your house was OK.  It takes SUCH intense focus to keep our older ones safe, some things are bound to slip. Saying this only because I have been known to take my mom to the Dr and be helping her so much that I have left my purse on the car floor and not realize it. Luckily we live in a safer type area. Hugs to you both, you are doing such a great job.

Mom’s ankle is doing better, but her attitude is lousy.  She is far from being fully recovered, but she keeps taking off (in her walker) without telling me.  I still have to spot her and do a lot of things for her, but she’s bent on being “free” and “independent”.  She promises that she’ll call me, but then does the opposite.  She’s often in a foul mood because she still can’t live her “normal life”.  She is really testing my patience.

ME!  Last night I finish the dishes, clean up the sink, and pack the garbage into the plastic bag.  Tie the bag up drop it into the garbage bin and wheel the bin to the edge of the street for pickup.

This morning I wake up and look out to see if the paper has been delivered.  It hadn't, no biggie, back to sleep.  Back up at 8:30, check again, no paper.  I'm guessing moron delivery person missed again, or paper was delivered and some asshole swiped it.  I have breakfast, get 2nd cup of joe sit to read paper digitally on line. Look at watch bring up papers website-WAIT A FREAKING MINUTE, look at my watch again, see the digital letters TU blast me in the face.

f**k me, today's Tuesday-garbage pickup and hard copy paper day is Wednesday.  Shit! :rofl1:

Ugggh, being human with a body stinks sometimes.  I had an EKG yesterday as part of a checkup, late afternoon.  They did it really quickly while I was blabbing with the nurse.  Too much talking apparently!  Got a call last night that there were questions about it and I had to drive 45 minutes for extra cardiac testing this AM.  Long and short of it was that the tech didn't hook up the wires correctly, I have a normal EKG  today and I am good for another 100,000 miles  .  I am very grateful but not a fun last night, though.  :givebeer:
