The Cocks play the Wolverines in Tampa in the Outback Bowl.

Cool.

Good matchup.

Good matchup.

If you see O'Korn on the back of the opposing QB's jersey, you can count on a win if you can score 10 points.

Isn't that where Clowney blew up the Michigan back?

Yep, on January 1, 2013

Ah, nostalgia:

Ah, nostalgia:

That was the middle play in a 3 play dramatic series. The play before, Michigan had lined up to punt on a 4th down, faked the punt, tried to run it for a first down, came down near the marker. The chain was extended, and Michigan appeared short. A ref signaled first down anyway. Spurrier, the team, and much of the stadium went berserk in disbelief. I did the same while watching that incredibly bogus first down call on TV. Even the announcers were saying they could not believe the call of first down.

Anyway, it was the call. That was the context for the very next play, with Michigan on first down getting blown up by Clowney as in the video.

The next play, Spurrier called for a long pass into the end zone, and it worked. TD SC, to take the lead.

A glorious series of plays in SC football history.

Penn State gets the Fiesta Bowl! (I still say they were snubbed last year.)

They play Washington. Goose, we're comin' for ya!

Yikes!

Come on. Let's see if the Pac 12 is more than just empty talk this year ;)

As a conference they tend to do well in bowls, but this year everyone's been a bit Jeckyll-Hyde.

No college football this Saturday.

Fooey.

Army vs Navy.

I don't consider that to contradict what I said.

The smaller schools in Texas high school football start their championship games this weekend. Pretty close. In two weeks the big schools. Very close.

Pac-12 is 0-1 so far, with Oregon going down to Boise State 38-28

No other Power 5 teams have played yet.

Looking forward to bowl season and watching some football where they have a clue of what a catch is.

That game wasn't really as close as the score might indicate. If not for 2 defensive TDs in the first half, it would probably have been 31-0, BSU.

And where a play really is dead once the ball crosses the plane of the goal line.

I hear what you're saying, and I despise the Patriots as much as anyone, but the rule says that during a catch, the ball must remain in control at all times including going to the ground. If it was a running play, it would have been a TD once it crossed the goal line no matter what happened afterward.

He was on the ground with the ball secure.

They sucked this year.

These early bowl names are so much fun.

Tonight's battle is the "Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl". One can only hope that means later in the bowl season there is a Sweet Cherry Bowl of some sort.

The game features Akron and Florida Atlantic. The main source of suspense is picking the quarter n which Lane Kiffin will take another job.

You only have to win 6 games to be bowl eligible, Mediocrity is good enough.

Pretty bad day for bowls, Ohio destroys UAB in the Bahamas Bowl before a tiny crowd, then Wyoming jumps out to a big lead at halftime of the Potato Bowl over the Central Michigan Chippewas.

At least Josh Allen, the QB for Wyoming is looking good for John Elway and other scouts from the No Reasonable Interpretation or Definition of a Catch League.

In only the second bowl game so far to involve a power 5 school, the Big 12 joins the Pac 12 in being off to a 0-1 start in Bowl Games, as Texas Tech loses to USF in a 38-34 thriller. Edited by Dread Pirate Robert

I'm ready for some real bowl games. The USF-TT game was fun but most of the others have sucked.

Yeah.

Not until after Christmas do the real bowl games start

The best conference in the country -- the SEC of course -- doesn't even play until the 27th, when Missouri is going to stomp Texas.

Yeah, some trash talk ;) Every year, it seems fashionable to talk about how down the SEC supposedly is, yet then the SEC tends to go out and rack up a really good bowl record.

We shall see ;)
