Lorraine
I'm so excited. This might not sound much to some, maybe many, of you, but it is to me. Out here, I have never ever heard Rush on the radio anywhere at any time ever; that is, until this morning in Walmart. I was walking around and vaguely became aware of the song that was playing thinking to myself "This sounds familiar" and then almost immediately realizing "That's RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then I realized it was Workin' Them Angels My face must have been radiant! I was so happy!! I know Snakes isn't that much of a loved album on here, but it does have quite a few good songs on the album. Workin' them Angels is one of them. At least, I think so. :) :Alex: :geddy: :Neil: :rush:

goose
Crazy to hear that track, of all the songs they could play. I would have been all smiles, too! :ebert:
Lorraine
My only regret was that I had no one with me to share the moment with. I got a few odd looks though from other customers.
Tombstone Mountain
Wal-Mart did use Working Man for a national commercial a few years back. Interesting
Lorraine
I kept looking around for some type of recognition of the song in another face so I could say something to the person. That's how excited I was.
goose
In a related event, I saw a guy in a Snakes and Arrows t-shirt at the movies, Sunday. This goes beyond coincidence, Lorraine.

What do you make of it? Maybe the cosmos is preparing us for a big Rush announcement?? Speaking of a Snakes t-shirt, I think I will see if I can get myself one at a reasonable price. Edit: Did you know that Walmart sells them? They do! Edited July 4, 2017 by Lorraine

I love that song. i did for 2 reasons. 1. it's from my fav Rush album. 2. it was great to hear something else played besides your old standby classic rock tune. ya know songs like bad to the bone, More Than A Feeling, Old time Rock and Roll. songs like that that Casino's always play. it was refreshing Mick

rocket ignites
I always get a kick out of hearing deeper cuts on the radio (besides the obvious TS, Limelight, TSOR). I heard Test for Echo on a station not that long ago. Workin' Them Angels in a Walmart would stop me in my tracks. lol

canadianice
How many of those Wal-Mart Tubbos in those scooters would even recognize that tune?
Lorraine
How many of those Wal-Mart Tubbos in those scooters would even recognize that tune? It was too early for them to be out. That's why I go to Walmart at that time - between 7 and 8 AM - very few people there.

I saw a guy with AFTK shirt going into the U2 show last week and I had to talk to him. We were both at the NJ/NY Rush shows two years ago. So sad that we may never see Rush again.
