Ancient Ways
Wow, my big brother was always a big fan of theirs. I remember his bands played a lot of ABB music when I was a kid. One of the earliest bands I was exposed to and I'm sure it made a psychological impact somewhere in there. One of my earliest detailed memories is driving somewhere with my dad before we moved to Florida listening to ramblin man on the radio while what seemed to be hundreds of motorcycles from what I remember to be hells angels riding past us. ive always enjoyed their music. blueschica
This news really breaks my heart. Gregg and the Allman Brothers were one of the groups that were there in my consciousness early. I remember having to be driven to go buy Brothers and Sisters but my Dad took me because he liked the ABB at times himself. I always loved the haunting, beautiful quality in so many of Gregg's songs. RIP, buddy. You will truly be missed.http://i.imgur.com/NQDBOr0l.jpg

Union 5-3992
I listened to Fillmore East and Live at Ludlow Garage countless times when I was growing up. This is a tremendous loss.
Northerner
I think the Allmans' first five albums represent the best of southern rock. Gregg had a great soulful voice, and I loved his Hammond playing. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
