patjnev Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 He is my favorite rock guitarist yes. I know other guitarist can shred as they say. But to me the faster the notes the less their value. What I love about his playing is he seemed to circumnavigate the fret wars of the 1980s with just a few well crafted riffs. He retained his " street cred " and then went on to play a totally different style. That took a lot of guts. It would of been so easy for him because he did have the chops to play flashy but he tried to stay away from that I think. 4
