Scooch
I'm not sure if this has already been shared (if it has, my apologies). Rik Emmett, the former guitarist and singer of Triumph, has a new album coming out that features Alex Lifeson on a couple of tracks, and a few tracks with James LaBrie. Also, there is one track that is a new Triumph song. Sounds interesting - check it out: http://www.rikemmett.com/

Lucas
Rik Emmett releasing a new album is great on its own, but the fact that Alex is involved AND a new Triumph song makes it that much better .. Great news, looking forward to it

treeduck
Interesting! That bit in the video trailer where it seems to be Alex doing a solo, that could be the most ballsy Lifeson lead guitar work for many a long year.
JohnnyBlaze
And I can totally see Alex joining Rik onstage for a couple of gigs too.

Think "vocals better than Geddy, guitar playing as good as, if not better at times, than Alex". http://dai.ly/x2ryd7l?start=82

HemiBeers
Could this become a supergroup and tour? Add a kickass drummer and you have it. Call it TriRush or Rushumph. Edited September 20, 2016 by HemiBeers

JohnnyBlaze
Could this become a supergroup and tour? Add a kickass drummer and you have it. Call it TriRush or Rushumph.Rik's been playing with guitarist Dave Dunlop for a while now. He's the one in the video saying nice things about Rik when Rik starts joking about how talented he is. I'd imagine Emmett playing with the other Triumph guys before trying to form a superband...however, he's tried that before but the other two guys have always been reluctant. Former Triumph drummer Gil Moore is busy with Metalworks Studios anyway. They did play some festival nearly a decade ago though. Another thing I can easily imagine is a gig here and there with the three Triumph members + Dave Dunlop...also with a few appearances from anyone involved with this new album. Including Alex. These are only my guesses but I'm a pretty smart guy so you should listen to me. ;)

I don't think he's trying to beat it though, he's just paying homage.
