JohnnyBlaze Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Haven't gone yet but sounds like it could be worthwhile. However, I have to get to see some important places to the band (like Pancer's Deli, Fisherville Jr High, Lakeside Park, etc :)) to really feel good about making the trip.Orbit Room of course 3
JohnnyBlaze Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I'm not too far from Toronto, but I've never been to a convention. What goes on at these things? Is it stuff like cover bands, karaoke, interviews with ex-roadies, lots of merch to blow your cash on? I seem to recall a little segment in the documentary about it.Strippers dude. Tons of strippers.

Fordgalaxy Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I can't imagine anything worse. I went once and it was mostly enjoyable. There are some folks who go every year and they hang out together doing things others aren't aware of/invited to, sort of cliquish, but there are also people who go once or maybe just a couple of times and seem to enjoy it. But yes, there is also a lot of the fawning type behavior that get's old. 1

That said I know a few people that have been that are just normal people up for the craic. 1
Lucas Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 I can't imagine anything worse. I read this 5 minutes ago, took my dog out for a short walk, and came back in .. I'm still laughing

No, however there IS supposed to be a big surprise this year, so.... ;) I know, I was thinking the same thing. :)Isn't there a "big surprise" every year? Having said that, if Geddy and/or Alex were to come, this would be the likeliest of all years so far. It wouldn't surprise me if Lifeson showed up as he always struck me as the most approachable of the 3. 3

Xanadu Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I booked the Chelsea but not through RushCon because I got a better deal....is this problematic in any way?
Alien Girl Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I booked the Chelsea but not through RushCon because I got a better deal....is this problematic in any way?Not a bit, that's where it's being held. You don't have to book through Rushcon if you find a better deal there for the dates. 2

Laurabw Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 I know I'm the one that started this thread but since I'm still out of work, I don't think I can really spend the money. Sigh.
