  1. http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/ultimateclassicrock.com/files/2014/08/Peter-Frampton-Kevin-Winter.jpg We’ve all been to concerts where we’ve felt powerless to stop people around us from blocking our view by taking video. Fortunately, there is Peter Frampton, who recently had an encounter with a rude fan regarding the practice. Before Frampton’s show Sunday night (Aug. 3) at the Palladium in Carmel, IN, fans were told by club management that they were not allowed to take video or use flash photography. However, that didn’t stop one couple up front, who kept taking photos and video all night long despite being told to put their phones away. As Onstage Magazine reports, “At first, Peter kept gesturing to them, saying, ‘No, don’t do that. Stop!” But they just did not get the hint. He was frantically looking for security, but they were nowhere nearby….Peter quickly turned around and turned his back to the audience and played that way for several moments.” Eventually, someone from the venue intervened, and the couple stopped. But only briefly. During ‘Do You Feel Like We Do,’ Frampton had finally had enough. “As he neared the end of the song, you could see the absolute look of desperation and frustration on Peter’s face. I have never seen an artist so upset before. Once, and he stormed off the stage. At his breaking point, and the guy in the front row unrelenting – apparently with no self-control considering he’s already flipped Peter off and turned around and called the rest of the audience a bunch of deadbeats – Peter ends the song, walks over and with a huge smile on his face bends down and says, ‘Hey can I see that? Can I see the photos you’ve been taking?’ The guy hands him his phone and Peter stands up, spins, and flings for the rafters! Yes! The phone went flying to the back of the stage and we all erupted in cheers! With years of experience playing guitar, we just knew he had a great arm!” Unfortunately, we do not have video of the incident, because that would be way too ironic. :haz: :haz: :haz: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/peter-frampton-throws-cell-phone/

  8. What's your favorite out of Rush's 3 longest songs. Mine is definitely Hemisphere's. Reason is because of how brilliant the lyrics are, and how good Geddy's voice is at this time.

  9. Feedback is a good listen. The Seeker is a great cover.

  10. I am just gonna lay this one out there... Until about 6 years ago, listening to Rush on any level, let alone being a diehard fan was a guilty pleasure. Colbert and I Love You Man turned the tide and people finally had to accept the guys sold a bazillion albums for a reason.

  15. Losing it is NOT a GUILTY pleasure. That song is not only magnificent but revered. I think a guilty pleasure would be a song that is looked down on or considered sub par but you like to listen to it... or something like that. For that matter Rivendell and Madrigal, I don't think would be guilty either. Neither would Presto, Chain Lightning, Test for Echo, and Emotion Detector. Yes, they have their detractors (like all songs do) but the admirers seem to greatly outnumber them.

  16. This forum is mostly the only thing I do on a computer. I have never been to another forum and am guessing I never will. I can't even remember now how I found this one and what possessed me to sign up in the first place. I am pretty comfortable with this now but was very nervous at the beginning..... :)

  18. I've always thought of Tool as one of the closest comparisons to Rush. More so than the bands listed here. Rush really have their own thing going though, no band is THAT similar

  21. I've seen Rush ten times and have never once left to use the restroom during their performance. I take care of that before the show starts and during the intermission if I need to. If they play a song I don't care for, i'll just sit down until it's over.

  22. Don't forget the adorableness that is a baby tapir: http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01431/Tapir_1431170i.jpg (I can't believe I just started reading this thread. A little late to the party :( ) I think its the best thread on TRF. SWS does a yeoman's job, I learn a lot, the comments are great and the pictures are invariably cute or utterly terrifying.

  29. 06 August 2014 Wednesday Tapirs Tapirs look something like pigs with trunks, but they are actually related to horses and rhinoceroses. This eclectic lineage is an ancient one—and so is the tapir itself. These animals have changed little over tens of millions of years. Tapirs have a short prehensile trunk, which is really an extended nose and upper lip. They use this trunk to grab branches and clean them of leaves or to help pluck tasty fruit. Tapirs feed each morning and evening. During these hours they follow tunnel-like paths, worn through the heavy brush by many a tapir footstep, to reach water holes and lush feeding grounds. As they roam and defecate they deposit the seeds they have consumed and promote future plant growth. Though they appear densely built, tapirs are at home in the water and often submerge to cool off. They are excellent swimmers and can even dive to feed on aquatic plants. They also wallow in mud, perhaps to remove ticks from their thick hides. New World tapirs generally live in the forests and grasslands of Central and South America. A notable exception is the mountain (or woolly) tapir, which lives high in the Andes Mountains. Woolly tapirs, named for their warm and protective coat, are the smallest of all tapirs. All four tapir species are endangered or threatened, largely due to hunting and habitat loss. http://i.imgur.com/ekxn2bH.jpg Malayan Tapir

  30. Boy somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed today. I've heard the album but don't really care for it. I can understand why they did it but I don't think they really improved a whole lot on the originals.
