  1. OK, it's my first (and probably only) tattoo. It's not really to represent my love for the band...they brought to light all the alchemy symbols and "amalgamation" was a fitting tribute to my husband and kids and the happy home we have. As a photographer, I've always wanted an infinity symbol, so it works in that respect as well as with the family link. It took all of 7 minutes to have done and it wasn't bad, discomfort-wise. It's on my left inner wrist. I just love it! It is VERY black...this b&w conversion kind of dulled how vibrant a black it is. It rocks!http://apageatatime.net/tat.jpg

  2. Even though Clockwork Angels has a bit of orchestra on it, I would really love to hear another album that sounds like the 80's synth era ones. That's my personal most favorite era of Rush and it would be great to hear some more of it one final time. And the entire album doesn't have to be like that, but out 10-11 songs total, it would be great if 4 or 5 of them were heavy on synth.

  4. Wow, I hadn't heard about this before just now stumbling on this thread. :( All I can say is one of the great legendary musicians of the world has passed. Not only was he immensely talented and hugely influential, but a man of class and integrity. I've loved every recording I've heard of his, and need to get more. RIP Ravi - heaven will be enriched by your presence GREATNESS: http://www.dailymoti...-pop-1967_music

  5. nice course...what kind of scores can you shoot there? You're so right about the sound of a well made putt, or ace....addictive man! Not sure on course pars or my relative scoring, as I don't play consistently and haven't played for about a year. After seeing this thread I spoke to my sons and a few friends about playing and we are planning a trip this Saturday. I've got to dig up some of my old discs and I guess we'll see this weekend if the old man still has the knack for 'rattling the chains'. Morley Field Disc Golf Course was free from 1977 to 1994. Now there is a small fee of $4.00 to play. An inexpensive and healthy way to spend an afternoon with family and friends. Your thread has gotten me motivated to go out a play.....Fore!!!!

  6. Wow. I hope you work in a field that requires creativity. If not, you're wasting it.

  9. You mean Brady? He's like the Tom Cruise of football! (only [much] taller) :spitwater: Welker, though I can't stand Brady either. Welker is the Woody Harrelson of football (only with [a little] more hair...

  12. McCarthy stated after the game that Crosby is still "his guy"........and then he says that Crosby "needs to make those kicks". Coach McCarthy should stop being "Coach Dad", "Coach Buddy", "Coach Mr. Nice Guy"....and start being the HEAD COACH. Would any other head coach continue to support a kicker who has missed so many FG's this year? I doubt it..... The Packer front office should also do something about the idiot special teams coach who ordered that pathetic trick play punt return. And if McCarthy approved the play (which I assume he did), then he, too, should face some disciplinary action. Fines, reprimands, whatever it takes to slap some SENSE into them.... Agree. If they're not working out kickers by mid week McCarthy is derelict in his coaching duty.

  14. You might as well be done for the year, the team certainly is. To lose to a team that has lost nine straight, the last by 58, is pretty much disgraceful. Trust me, man. I know. I look like such an idiot the way I defended them for this season.

  16. Happy holidays. I'm actually astounded that the RV thing is still possible with gas prices and crazy inflation. Go man go, live life to the fullest. My grandfather had that exact same dream. To just cruise around North America in an RV. I can finally see why.

  18. The idea of an era is that it starts at a certain point in time and at a later point it ends, as a new era commences and other eras follow. You can't leap backwards and start some old era up again once it's finished like some kind of music fan Dr Who. It's not just about synths, it's about time and place. The time and place where the synth era existed is gone forever. Even if they did a synth album next it wouldn't be a Synth era album because the synth era ended around 1990. It would either be a throwback retro synth album or a new kind of synth album altogether... :D-13:

  19. Actually its very simple. There are only 20 albums and there are 52 weeks in a year just listen to a different album ever other week! and then take a two week vacation!! :sundog:

  20. I don't even know what to say. Thanks for all of the kind words, everyone. It was just a spontaneous post of what I felt in my heart - nothing special. I guess it made an impression. That's very cool I got quoted. Even cooler for Geddy, Alex and Neil to finally get the acknowledgement they so richly deserve. I'm happy I could represent TRF. I really enjoy my time here discussing Rush and other topics with all of you. Thank you. CG

  21. I went with my teenage daughter to sign her up for spring classes at the community college she attends. As a "dual-credit" student, we have to speak to an advisor to register. After waiting a while, we got summoned and a female advisor led us back to her office. The first thing I notice when we walk into her office is there's a 2012 Rush calendar on her wall. So, I casually said, "that's a nice picture of Alex Lifeson on your wall." Then ensued about 5 minutes of fangirl geeking out together, including talk about the concert coming up this Sunday in Houston. My dd, who hates Rush, was quietly stewing and wondering if we were ever going to get her registered. We did, of course, but it totally made my day.
