thirteen
Great job on the vocals, I also like the drumming. But the guitars sounded like utter shite IMO - the "too much gain" guitar tone that has infected modern heavy metal. Even with two guitars (8 string ERG's) they can't match Alex for heaviness.
stoopid
Solid. Agree about the guitars.
thirteen
Solid. Agree about the guitars. It's amazing just how utterly shite the sound of heavy metal guitars has become. Listen to Tony Iommi's tone on Black Sabbath Volume 4. It's as heavy as an anvil dropped on your balls. The guitar tone on that song was as heavy as a tissue dropped on your feet lol. F*ck I hate heavy metal guitar these days.

LedRush
I like the cover, but the heavy staccato on the guitars seemed disjointed and didn't match the feel of the song for me.
Mr. Not
Even with two guitars (8 string ERG's) they can't match Alex for heaviness. Sounding good or appropriate is one thing, but I'm pretty sure they're objectively heavier.

stoopid
Solid. Agree about the guitars.I really enjoyed that but agree something sounds off aboot the guitars. My ears tell me that they're just trying to do too much with their tone. Thirteen's point about listening to how old metal players did it is very valid, as most modern players get hung up on gear and effects and forget the basics of how a guitar has to sound (to work with other instruments in a mix). condemned2bfree
Yeah that guitar tone is too much, trying to be heavy, heavy playing and sonic placement to make it sound heavy, an after thought it seems. This version sorta sounds better for a modern rendition, though the guitar tone is still a tad too much for me. It does star hammy Shatner tho
