grasbo
Yes I was I wondering that.If there is one they are cutting it fine.Definitely buy it if they have a cleaned up St Louis 1980 boot on it.
Lurkst
The previous 40th anniversary boxes were released November/ December time, probably to maximize Xmas sales. I imagine PW will be similar...
RushFanForever
Hugh Syme hinted in the recent Sonic Perspectives interview that he did with Rod in Toronto that there will be a 40th Anniversary deluxe box set of 'Permanent Waves' that's being released. This gets mentioned starting at the 21:26 mark . Edited December 30, 2019 by RushFanForever
chemistry1973
That live Bangkok (Manchester UK, 1980) on the 2112 Reissue gives me hope that there is a full concert that they'll release, that isn't St Louis. Here's the setlist from that show: 2112: Overture2112: The Temples of Syrinx2112: Discovery (abbreviated)2112: Presentation2112: Soliloquy2112: Grand FinaleFreewillBy-Tor and the Snow Dog (abbreviated) >XanaduThe Spirit of RadioNatural ScienceA Passage to BangkokThe TreesCygnus X-1 (abbreviated) >Hemispheres: PreludeHemispheres: Apollo/Dionysus (abbreviated)Hemispheres: ArmageddonHemispheres: CygnusHemispheres: The SphereCloser to the Heart >Beneath, Between, and Behind (abbreviated)Jacob's LadderWorking Man (abbreviated, reggae version) >Finding My Way (abbreviated) >Anthem (abbreviated) >Bastille Day (abbreviated) >In the Mood (abbreviated) >Drum SoloLa Villa Strangiato Edited December 30, 2019 by chemistry1973

Rush Didact
I would love to see an official, mastered-from-the-tapes release of the St. Louis show, but I'm not getting my hopes up for it for a simple reason: since Test for Echo, the guys have gotten addicted to using compressors in the studio, and compression would absolutely destroy the sound of that show. The best part of the entire thing is the sound of the Taurus pedals during La Villa, the bass is absolutely phenomenal. It's my go-to song for testing out any new speakers or subwoofers. But I guarantee they'll throw a compressor on it during mastering to boost the overall level of the album, which will rein in the crazy bass and ruin the impact of those glorious pedals. That's exactly what happened on that UK vinyl release that came out a couple years ago.
chemistry1973
Isn't there already a good sounding St. Louis 1980 out there? Give us another show from that tour I say!

taurus
Just please a full live PeW show. Manchester preferred. Cobbled from all the shows or just one night, no matter to me.
ytserush
Isn't there already a good sounding St. Louis 1980 out there? Give us another show from that tour I say! There's more than a few out there across all formats. Maybe the label hires Terry Brown to remix it like they did with Hammersmith.
tas7
So is Permanent Waves to be ignored, and then we will get another version of Moving Pictures, god forbid?
thizzellewashington
Would like to see a complete show from the tour. Rush's best setlist ever IMO. The St. Louis one sounds great but it's incomplete.
rugen
The sound is not the best but this is a complete show :
