Around here they became the band that douchebag drunk frat guy tries to sing at the bars or football games and has thusly ruined any attraction I had for the band. They're not awful but not nearly as great as the record sales would indicate, IMO...but their success does show the power of simple melodies and excellent harmonies.

 

They're fine I guess but I do find Don Henley full of himself with the air of "self-important artist" about him that I can't stand. So yeah, f**k him.

I honestly really like The Eagles. I've grown up with them since they're my dad's favorite band and have been since the '70s, therefore I haven't really been able to escape them. I don't know how many times I've listened to Hell Freezes Over since I was a little kid, but I know it's a lot.

 

But I actually really love 'em. :)

Don't know. Just posting what I found. I did some further searching and this apparently happened although it wasn't quite reported the way the blind item says it happened.

I would say most musicians (especially from the 70s) have crossed a lot of lines most of us wouldn’t be ok with. Jimmy page hooked up with under age girls and ted nugent married an underage girl after her parents signed him over to her as legal guardian.

I used to like them until I watched a documentary about them.

 

Sometimes the less you know about the personalities in a band, the better off you are.

 

 

Edit: I still like some of their songs, but Glen and Don were obnoxious.

I have heard it was run by RD Jr.

 

I thought I'd heard it all and that nothing they did in Hollywood would surprise me, but even I have been sickened by the vile, perverse and deviant actions of not a few. The Clinton stuff is old news; only shocking to those who have ignored it all these decades. But, like someone on that site wisely posted in the comment section, we're the only ones that divide the country into left/right, democrat/republican. For the elite, those divisions do not exist. They know it's just them (the Elite) and the peasants. That's us.

 

As for whether the place is legit or not, I'd think if it were nothing but Enquirer-type slander and baseless rumors, they'd be shut down by lawsuits.

I like the Eagles. Overplayed? Heck yea. But the hits are undeniable. Saw them live about 15 years ago and it was one of the best shows I've seen. Joe Walsh is awesome.
