I recently had Cascade ginger beer which was quite nice. We Aussies like our ginger beer but I don't like Bundaberg. I miss Vernors. I really really really miss root beer!

Well as far as mass produced varieties I went with Canada Dry. However my favorite Ginger Ale is my home made recipe. It is surprisingly simple and mixes very well with me beloved Bourbon :P
