I tend to stream most music (even the rush I own) through YouTube mostly. Convenient. I either use some decent noise cancelling headphones or my jam box by the pool.

:boo hiss:

Which part; streaming, Rush, YouTube, convenience, headphones, jam box, or pool?

You Tube.

Why? Did they delete your account or something?

No, I just don't think You Tube is for music.

I know, but you tube should be for video's, not music.

I pretty much listen to music in all formats except for 8-track. I use the turntable often but I wouldn't go far as to say I do it every day. I own 6 cassettes, but I only pull them out on special occasions. I listen to CDs but only if I'm using my Sony CD player. Most music today, I listen via digital (iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, etc.). I get download codes w/ most new vinyls (and sometimes cassettes) these days so I just get my digital music from that route. Edited by PolarizeMe

Yes but they are probably all just different editions of Feedback.

Agreed. YouTube is one of the best ways to discover new bands.

Nonsense.

YouTube should be used for anything you can find out of it.

Yeah, but not for music.

"Anything" is anything. And it includes music.

These days CDs. I still have a lot of vinyl from back in the day but I consider it retired, like souvenirs. I've not much interest in MP3s except as a sample.

Well in this case I don't have this song. But if you have a song on CD or vinyl then you've already paid for it so you can listen to it any way you want. But then I think you can listen to anything any way you want.

How many of that 1000 is Rush? 500? 750?!?

I was gonna say that I wasn't aware that Rush had released a thousand things on vinyl.

As for the youtube debate, it is a good way to discover new music. Most bands put their new singles up on it. If that didn't happen there would be a number of bands I would have never discovered.

It also comes in handy if you want to listen to an old album you lost or a rare release you can't find anywhere else.

And sometimes you can send a youtube link to someone else to introduce them to a song, or band or album.

You're quite good at doing that via PM

I think, no offense, this is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this forum.

YouTube should be whatever the user wants it to be. A source for music? Why! It is like the internet equivalent of tape trading back in the eighties! Send links to studio recordings, music videos, live videos...without YouTube there would be plenty of bands I love left undiscovered.

Seriously, this is one of the silliest opinions I have ever come across.
