Hey, guess I'm in!

I'll let you know when the T-Shirts are in.

Posted

I passed!

I feel like as excited and surprised as I was when I got by 1st grade.

I'm glad to see that owning three dozen Rush Ts, the bobble heads, a hundred bootlegs, and a Rush jockstrap for each day of the week were not required.

I hate Hold Your Fire (except Turn the Page), and don't own Vapor Trails or Feedback, however I have

-made my own Rush t-shirts on two occasions

-seen them 17 times in concert over the years since 1981

-been to Rushcon 3 times

-broke 5 jigsaw blades (or was it bandsaw?!) in 8th grade metal shop making a Rush sign in the Hemispheres font (sold at Rushcon for $80 in their charity auction).

What does all that get me?

You're lucky. There are only 2 or 3 other people on the planet that have Vapor Trails and Feedback with JohnRogers' autograph on them!

Oooh, that's right. Lorraine and I have autographed items! Lorraine has a pristine copy of Rolling Stone signed by all three, and (I'm too sentimental) I have a beat up vinyl copy of AFTK signed by all three guys in Buffalo. Hopefully we will get our exemption ! (if we ever bother to turn it in :D :D ) Edited by blueschica

Chica, that's right! How could I forget about my autographed Rolling Stone Magazine - personalized by Neil Peart himself? :codger:

It's still in the envelope that came directly from Key Arena. :) Maybe even Geddy or Alex (or both!!!) handled the envelope. I ought to have it dusted for fingerprints.

Surely this accounts for something?

And i can't help it that 90% of my Rush stuff isn't legal. I was lucky enough that some generous and kind TrueRushFan sent me so much to get me up to snuff and date on Rush. :) It was quite an education. I home-schooled myself. :codger:

I put mine up on my wall in an album frame almost immediately. I wanted to be able to look at it all the time.

Yeah, I should really do that before my cat sleeps on it or something!

I used my original copy of Vapor Trails as a frisbee; do I get a plaque or something?

I took a dump on my Snakes CD. It made it smell better.

I am good on the first two points. I own and listen to all the albums, yes even Feedback occasionally. I have purchased at least three copies in most of them and a few four in digital, CD, and 2015 vinyls.

I am gonna need a hardship waiver for the live shows, unless DVD's count? I have them ALL. :coy: It's hard to go to concerts; between babies being born (not just two BTW, I have 10) and a husband who hates my music, I never got a chance. I think I still qualify as a TRF. Hell I even have shoelaces.

You have 10 kids and still find time to knit ?? Wow! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

LOL! Well thanks but to clarify only 4 are still home. BUT I have always knit so yeah I did even when they were all home and little. Also though the oldest is 30 and the youngest almost 6, so they were never ALL little at the same time.

Have you converted any of your 12 kids??? You maybe able to reach the magic number of 1237 with conversion points to off set your lack of tour points.

Why isn't this thread pinned yet for reference by future generations?

Unfortunately none of my 10 (not 12 :eyeroll: ;) ) have been successfully assimilated to Rush fandom but my oldest does like them. She even gets The Necromancer, but her musical tastes are wide and varied so not sure how much that counts for. Still trying though.

Maybe your oldest can be a character witnesses for you in an affidavit or something. I think the judges would consider your plea.
