J2112YYZ
26. Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings (J2112YYZ) Heavy, dark, angry, 16 minute epic based on the story in Dante's Inferno. It doesn't get more metal than this. Edited April 2, 2016 by J2112YYZ
Segue Myles
27. Britney Spears- Femme Fatale This dark and brooding black metal masterpiece introduced me to the bitter and pain of life. Against all my senses of right and wrong it lured me into the black and doomy depths of the nether regions of fear and it never let me go. I sold my soul and now all I can do is cry blood and sweat petrol as the flames of my sulphuric fury infect my everything. Metal to its darkest, dankest and most foul heart. Prepare to become at war with yourself. You will lose your mind to the heart of evil.
PolarizeMe
28. Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down Once stated at the time of its release by their record label, Peaceville Records to be the greatest album ever to have been released on their label, this album is my favorite Katatonia release and rightfully so I call this their Blackwater Park (ironic since both albums were released in 2001). IMO, Last Fair Deal Gone Down solidified the band's relevance/importance in the metal genre. This album took what the band solidified on their previous album Tonight's Decision when they went full on goth/alternative metal and upped the songwriting and musicianship a notch. It also brought along with it a bit of some pop rock-esque verse-chorus sensibility in some of the songs. The end result was one of their strongest statements for an album, and for me, when coming up with a list for their greatest songs, a lot of it comes from this album alone. To this day, Teargas remains their most popular and signature song and for good reason cause it's honestly a really good song.

Even though it caused their old drummer to quit as a result of their direction, it sounds quite unique because of the drum style mixed with the way the other instruments are played.
