tas7
Upgrade or not, hearing you lose the ability to play DVDs? Anyone know?
LittleRushmonkey
I doubt it. If that means no software to play them you can just use VLC or something. They scrapped dvd playing software in Windows 8 and I just use VLC since my laptop's Windows 8. Edited July 29, 2015 by LittleRushmonkey

There is at. The bottom of the main menu a non-rush related part, and it even has its place for computation. And yes, im also tired to rank albums Though i never did it :D

J2112YYZ
There was a thread about this a few months ago and it was suggested by some to not upgrade it right away. They said it was best to wait a few months for all the bugs to be worked out and then give it a try. That's what I think I will do.

Ah...but you have to download it first then.If you Windows 7 or 8, you can get it for free via download. You "reserve" your copy and it gets downloaded automatically in the background. You pick when and if you want to install. Also, it would be hard to install if you didn't download it first. :-)

The Analog Cub
It looks great, but I'm holding off on this one. This desktop is used for dozens of games, and lots of software development, so I'm gonna wait until the storm blows over and I know everything will still work. I guess you could do the original install then immediately apply all the update/patches. I really don't think I'll get to upgrade because all I have is 3 meg Internet and it is constantly up and down. I don't think that I'll even be able get the full 3gb download.
edm2112
Just got done upgrading about 30 minutes ago. Everything seems alright so far. Pretty much the same feel as 7 but with newer features. Tried out some of the recording software I had left on there...so far Reaper and FL Studio 10 still work well enough. Was worried I'd have to wipe off my files beforehand, but as long as you've got a spare 20-25GB you're good to go. It was good to see everything just like i left it before the update...Although I probably won't be actively searching for faults, I'll report back if I find anything too terrible.
