Rushman2112
Since the Rush newsgroup died (many years ago), I wondered where everyone went. How could I've not known this existed? Strange. Well, better late than never.

J2112YYZ
Speaking of old Rush groups, does anyone remember The National Midnight Star? I was a member of that back in the 90s. I didn't know about this place until I saw the link to it in some Rush related thing I was reading online. I lurked for a bit but then joined not too long after that.

They have their own thread that's 230 something pages long.

Rushman2112
"So you're used to defending Mike Portnoy's tantrums, hospital adventures and twitter antics??" Portnoy is usually the hardest to defend out of the five. He has surprised me (in a bad way) many times with his judgement over the years. Great drummer though. Rushman2112
The only group I remember posting to before this was amr (alt.music.rush) though I was aware of other groups. Amr was actually the reason why I paid for an internet connection even though technically I was on the internet a couple of months before it began. I lurked for a couple of years but my first post was on 3-19-93. I found it on google news and here it is (a little embarrassing actually). Here's the original post and then my reply: I am very curious of other's views on my favorite band. So I'm conducting asmall personal poll. Please take a few minutes to respond, it would be mostappreciated. I will compile the results after my spring break(in Rivrndale),and post the results on April fools day, then it can all be a joke. Thanks for you help,Eric Moore.1. J2112YYZ
I was on the NMS too!!! It was actually my first experience in any kind of social network. We should start a topic to find out who else in TRF was in it too. Yeah, i've got a feeling that some of us encountered each other on that long before we came here and don't even realize it. I was a much different poster back then though. I was a teenager and very angry and rebellious. So my posts on TNMS probably wouldn't even sound like they were coming from the same person who's typing right now.
