I heard She don't know Me i was like. Metal Band my ass. that's AOR, lol.

great song though.

Mick

THEN WHY ARE SO SO DOWN ON THOSE EARLY RECORDS, HHHHMMMMMM?

Just kidding. They are a product of their time. And also great albums with way more flavour than people give them credit for.

I don't know why some are so down on Bon Jovi but pro-Cheap Trick or Aerosmith. To me they are all simplistic good time rock n roll!

Cheap Trick and Aerosmith have different roots than Bon Jovi. What they have in common with Bon Jovi is the 1980s commercialism road they followed. Where's the hairspray?!?!

I prefer Bon Jovi to both bands tbh.

And putting a bands music down because of their image is something vapid pop fans do.

Oh, you know I equally put down Bon Jovi's tendency to be as musically unimaginative as possible. They are a veritable blueprint of lyrical and musical cliches.

I don't think they are unimaginative. They are a straightforward pop rock band with no false pretences and a desire to be the best that they can be.

Considering some of the crap you listen too I find it amazing you have room to talk like this about one of my favourite bands.

I have a Bon Jovi question.

How is it they are worth more money than Rush? How is it that Geddy is worth a measly $30,000,000.00 and Jon is worth $300,000,000.00?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Rush are artful rock and Bon Jovi are straightforward pop rockers. Two very different audiences.

Bon Jovi is full of false pretenses. When hair metal faded away they grasped for the U2 and Springsteen crowd. They are as calculated for commercial success as any band ever to exist! Totally genuine in following any fad for acceptance.

Apparently. I read that he alone made millions in just three months of touring - something like $96,000,000.00.

Bon Jovi adore Springsteen and had elements of his sound right from the start. U2 aren't all that.

Bon Jovi's nineties albums sound nothing like the fads of the day.

If you're being serious, Bon Jovi has sold a ton more albums and has remained very popular for most of their 30 plus years. Sure, Rush is a popular band but they are not pop like Bon Jovi is.

Doesn't Jon own an arena league football team? He's also done some acting, currently is part of a commercial campaign for direcTV. All of that brings in money.

People slating Bon Jovi for being too simple of vapid are honestly missing the entire point of what makes them so much fun.

Come on, with lyrics like this, how can you possibly say Bon Jovi is cliched.

Your love is like bad medicine

Bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease

Bad medicine

I ain't got a fever, got a permanent disease

And it'll take more than a doctor to prescribe a remedy

I got lots of money but it isn't what I need

Gonna take more than a shot to get this poison out of me

And I got all the symptoms count 'em 1, 2,3

First you need, then you bleed, and when you're on your knees

(That's what you get for falling in love

You get a little but it's never enough

That what you get for falling in love)

Now, this boy's addicted 'cause your kiss is the drug, whoa

Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease

Bad, bad medicine

I don't need no needle to be givin' me a thrill

And I don't need no anesthesia or a nurse to bring a pill

I got a dirty down addiction that doesn't leave a track

I got a jones for your affection like a monkey on my back

There ain't no paramedic gonna save this heart attack

When you need, then you bleed, on you knees

(That's what you get for falling in love

You get a little but it's never enough

That what get for falling in love)

This boy's addicted 'cause your kiss is the drug, whoa

Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

So let's play doctor, baby

Bad medicine

It's what I want. Bad, bad medicine

Ow, it's what I need

I need a respirator 'cause I'm running out of breath

You're an all night generator wrapped in stockings and a dress

When you find your medicine you take what you can get

'Cause if there's something better baby well they hav'n't found it yet

Whoa

Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease

Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease

Bad, bad medicine is what I want

Bad bad medicine. Oo baby, oo babe

I gotta go I gotta I gotta go I gotta medicine

I got I gotta do it again, wait a minute wait a minute

Hold on I'm not done. One more time. With feeling

Come on. All-right. Help me out now

Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need, whoa

Shake it up just like bad medicine

There ain't no doctor that can cure my disease

Fast food is Awesome.

I'm buying a big mac today.

Mick

Exactly.

Music doesn't have to be all about high art and boundary pushing.

I can settle for just plain old fun times and thats why I love Bon Jovi, Toto and yes, even at times Rush (who have some terrible lyrics).

If I want serious music I have Springsteen, Thrice or Miles Davis.

ReRushed listens to some of the most clichéd, and generic, and unimaginative bands I have ever heard and claims he has a foot to stand on when it comes to criticising Bon Jovi.

I swear he must be the chief editor for Rolling Stone magazine, his praises for artists are that predictable and cliché. Which is funny as he attacks Bon Jovi for the same reasons that his posts make me roll my eyes so far back the cornea kisses my brain.

But whatever.

Yes, I'm serious. Do you think they are as talented as Rush? I don't. That's not to say that they aren't talented, but ...

Yes, he does own a football team. In fact, if you watch the documentary I posted in this thread, he will tell you not once, but many times, how he is the CEO of Jon Bovi Enterprises.
