The Analog Cub
The best clarity? 2112, Moving Pictures, Power Windows, Counterparts, R30, Snakes And Arrows I'm very surprised nobody's mentioned 2112. The mix on that is pretty awesome. Worst? Vapor Trails original, Signals. Test For Echo suffered on production as well, but wasn't as bad, I think Alex contributed more to that than Collins. On Signals sometimes it's hard to pick out the guitar over the keys. Vapor Trails should be obvious. Edited January 3, 2015 by BowlCity

bathory
signals and GUP have great production but not "best 'clarity'"
The Analog Cub
signals and GUP have great production but not "best 'clarity'" Grace Under Pressure was an improvement over Signals as far as clarity goes, but Power Windows was the production pinnacle of the synth era. That being said, p/g is in my top 3 while Power Windows is in my top 10.
driven_to_xanadu
Counterparts and Test for Echo were really well mixed & produced albums to me..regardless of what your opinion of the material is.
Blue J
Hemispheres, Moving Pictures, Hold Your Fire. Best of the best in terms of production, I say. Lots of good comments here, and I'm not going to get highly technical. I just know what my ears tell me. :)

goose
Presto does sound good. I was also thinking, believe it or not, Test For Echo.Test for Echo does have near-perfect sound. Precise clarity, but with warmth.
goose
The best clarity? I'm very surprised nobody's mentioned 2112. The mix on that is pretty awesome. It is excellent. Each instrument has the room it needs. Caress of Steel is great as well.

Geddy's Soul Patch
signals and GUP have great production but not "best 'clarity'" Grace Under Pressure was an improvement over Signals as far as clarity goes, but Power Windows was the production pinnacle of the synth era. That being said, p/g is in my top 3 while Power Windows is in my top 10. I think Power Windows can be a little piercing when the keys and guitar are going at the same time. I think Collins definitely improved the sound on HYF
Entre_Perpetuo
Somewhere between Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures. Honestly those albums never fail to be a breath of fresh air.
