What decade does Permanent Waves really belong in?

Year of production over year of release.

Like a bottle of wine.

It is like a fine bottle of wine, isn't it? "I'll have the Coquilles Saint-Jacques, the blanquette de Veau, and the Gigot D'Agneau Pleureur, and let's have the '79 Permanent Waves as well."

I don't care what decade it belongs too. Either way it is a masterpiece.

Exactly!

Why doesn't this thread die already?!

Permanent Waves is a 70s album! Yes! Permanent Waves is an 80s album! Yes!

Die! Die! DIE!

Oh man, this must be what RUSHHEAD feels like.

Signed,

Different hearts beat on different strings

You love it. I can tell.

Actually no. But I like your reply.

Doesn't anyone understand what having some fun means?

Does anyone here really think this is a serious question meant to cause mental anguish and sleepless nights until resolved?

:codger:

I will always sleep well knowing Waves is an 80's album.

Isn't that how Bill B. got in trouble? By giving radio stations an advanced copy of Hold Your Fire before he was supposed to?

Isn't common that radio stations get advanced copies of albums before being released in retail stores?

Yes.

It used to be. I don't know what goes on today.

Let me put it this way: I couldn't be any more unserious about this thread. But for every 9 posts having fun there's a post that doggedly tries to rationalize his/her point. THAT effort is funny to me.

a serious footnote:

No matter where you put Permanent Waves, the fact that it is a fantastic and beloved album is on display with this kind of topic

I mean, who gives a **** *** *** whether Presto is an 80s or 90s album ?

or . . .

Now that you put it that way, who wants the album with Farrah, The Bee Gees, the mohawk man and Mr. Jaws? Oh Lord, I see Richard Nixon too.

This is like chess. I'd have Ziggy Stardust handle the Goblin King. I'd have Jaws bite on Axl's neck. Scooby Doo bite on Madonna's. And Travis Bickle bite everyone else's.

Oh, is this still the Permanent Waves thread?

They would have received the album in 1979. How can they receive and unwrap an album that doesn't exist???

Is the mohawk guy supposed to be Robert DeNiro?
