Who are the three Hold Your Fire votees? :laughing guy:

I was the first...then backed down...

it is a terrific album so why the silly, but infectiously awesome, gigglies?

Because while it is a terrific album, I hardly think it is their best and would be amazed that anyone can think it is their best unless they were coming of age when HYF came out which would mean that they were born in the vicinity of 1970. Hence, the infectiously awesome gigglies.

Is my answer sufficient for your awesomeness, or would you like me to expand a bit on it here and there? Hmmmm??

Nope! I thought maybe you didn't like it at all...which didn't make sense haha.

You speak wisdomness!

Yes. That's me. Wisdomness personified. :joker:

I wonder what Rush's favorite album is?

They've said they enjoyed making PeW and CA the best, being Satisfied as artists with CA

Always their latest, curious as it may sounds...

I was born in 1970 and think voting for HYF is ridiculous. For the record.

So as a band their favourites are the likes of Clockwork Angels, Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures.

But, does anynone know what Geddy's favourites are? And Alex's and Neil's?

As curious at it may sounds, especially when you got fine ears, Geddy has mentioned two times that one of his favourites was RTB!

Maybe for others bands, but not his own band!

I can see why they would like Clockwork Angels. But I wonder what it is about Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures that is so special to them.

PW was the return to shorter songs, and Moving Pictures as you have seen in many video footage, this was done in a nice environment in quebec where everything went right for band, fun, work and plenty of good wine!

I know how dear the album is to your heart but let it go! others don't feel the same love!

Makes for more interesting discussion if we simply go with the flow...

I hate to see A Farewell To Kings with only three votes.

I know. How about CoS and 2112 with one each while HYF has three!

Hey, who deleted their Hemispheres vote?!

Signals, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows having no votes is saddening (and surprising) too.

While all three are great albums we are talking about the top of the top! Best of the best.

BTW, acceptable answers are:

Caress of Steel

2112

A Farewell To Kings

Hemispheres

Permanent Waves

Moving Pictures

Of their studio albums I just can't see an argument for any others.

Grace Under Pressure would've been my next vote. Love that album to death.

Here is my list. I included live albums up until Different Stages which includes the amazing Hammersmith show which is a sort of follow-up to All the World's a Stage (including an amazing version of "Cygnus X-1"). I rated A Show of Hands pretty low as for some reason the band chose some uninspired bland performances for the album release; truthfully that compilation kinda sucks especially compared to the video of the same name (shot in one location) which is one of my favorite Rush live performances (the VHS mix, not the horrible DVD mix). I actually prefer ALL the Hold Your Fire tracks as performed on the A Show of Hands VHS release. All live albums after Different Stages are pointless as they are just the audio from their DVD releases with abysmal empty reverbed-to-death buzzy sound "quality."

All the World's A Stage

Hemispheres

Caress of Steel

A Farewell to Kings

2112

Moving Pictures

Permanent Waves

Power Windows

Fly By Night

Signals

Rush

Grace Under Pressure

Exit Stage Left

Vapor Trails

Different Stages

Clockwork Angels

Hold Your Fire

Snakes and Arrows

Presto

Counterparts

A Show of Hands

Roll the Bones

Test For Echo

If i was being honest, i would say that i can't pick one between PW, Hemis, AFTK and MP and that has been my thought for decades.
