Wes Wanker suspended four games for violating PED policy

Broncos receiver and Woody Harrelson lookalike Wes Wanker has been suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

According to multiple reports, Wanker tested positive for a banned amphetamine.

Wanker becomes one of the highest-profile NFL players to be busted for a PED violation. Wanker led the league in receptions three times while with the Patriots, and he was a component of the best offense in the NFL last year with the Broncos.

There’s been much talk in recent days about whether Wanker would be healthy enough to play in Week One after suffering a preseason concussion, but now that talk is moot: Wanker will miss four games regardless of whether he is cleared by the league’s concussion protocol.

The Broncos should be in OK shape at receiver even without Wanker, thanks to the signing of free agent receiver Emmanuel Sanders and the drafting of rookie receiver Cody Latimer.

Wanker will not be permitted to practice with the team during the suspension. He will be eligible to return in Week Five, what a wanker.

Watch out for Cody Latimer!

:dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez:

I hope he plays well against the Seahawks.

Hopefully the Seahawks entire secondary will be suspended by then.

RG3: We fixed what we needed to fix on offense

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III served as a talking point last preseason because no one had seen him play since tearing his ACL and he was a talking point again this summer because he was playing.

Griffin took too many hits in a game against the Browns and played poorly against the Ravens, leading to concerns about how quickly he’s picking up the offense installed by new head coach Jay Gruden this offseason. Griffin played down those concerns by pooh-poohing “doubters” and saying people were overreacting to preseason performances, a theme he stuck with on Monday when he said that all the work the team did in the offseason would now “come to fruition.”

“We fixed what we had to fix in practice,” Griffin said, via CSNWashington.com. “That’s for us to know and you guys to find out.”

We’ll all find out Sunday when the Redskins square off against the Texans. Any struggles in that game will lead to even more doubters for Griffin and Washington and they won’t have the preseason caveat to use as an explanation.

Clowney will clown the Skins...

RG3 is more of an actual clown than Tony Romo at the moment.

Hey, watch out for Romo this year. He's going to have to put some huge numbers because his team may have to score 50 points a game to win anything. 5400 yds is not out of the question.

He might challenge Eli's interception mark from last year.

Based on what?

Go Raiders! :madra:

Let the nightmare begin. :P

What's with the pessimism...they killed the defending champs already this year....

:dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez: :dweez:

First of all,

It was the preseason. Second, they have been sh** since 2002. I have been a die hard fan since the late 60's. Until I see some great improvement It will be this. :boo hiss:

The fourth game of the preseason has great predictive value! Any game where the starters don't play a down is extremely important...

Well,

I need a team that has the 'grit & grime' that I grew up with. It's not around any more. Dennis Allen is a joke!! :madra:

He did ok as a position coach with the SAINTS.

Maybe so,

He sucks!! This is his last chance as the Raiders head coach as far a I am concerned. :madra:

Whether you like him or not, and since he's a Cowboy, you don't. He'll have good numbers and another mediocre to below average team.

And everyone sees something different. I see a team that would have had no chance in hell at sniffin' .500 without him.

I just wish Jerry would have gotten his way and drafted Manziel and then started him Week 1. I think there'd be about a 50% chance they'd go 0-16 with that defense.

Our defense is a product of poor drafting and terrible contracts. Thanks Jerry!

The Packers don't look good in this game, especially their tackling and their offensive line.

Their new "smaller" D-line is playing pretty small.....

And they are now down TWO right tackles, their starting center, their starting tight end, their starting nose tackle......and they can't catch Lynch and Harvin...... :wtf:

We are picking up Michael Sam so all is good with the D.

You said it bro !!!!

I read some where that the NFL were asking teams to sign him. They were worried about the negative press the media would throw at them. If true, thats pretty sad.

I hope that isn't true. The lad should be signed on his abilities. I thought he had a good preseason.

See: Affirmative Action.

I know some African Americans that believe they got their job because they were black and not simply on qualifications and that bothers them.
