Rick N. Backer
No Quarter by Zeppelin is pretty "epic." As is Black Sabbath, by, well, you know.
Tommy Sawyer
Hotel California? I know a lot folks here are not fans of The Eagles, but still the guitar interchange between Felder and Walsh in that song is really good. Also, the last track on the same album, The Last Resort is worthy of consideration too. Both are epic songs! :haz: Eagles fan here! :hi:

It's one of those classic songs like Stairway To Heaven and Bohemian Rhapsody, just a tad too overplayed to make my list. I prefer THIS song as one of the great epics of the 70's by an Eagles member: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XyTpENuoCI Edited December 25, 2012 by rushgoober
rushgoober
Another 70's prog epic classic that came THIS close to making my list was Clearlight Symphony Part 1 by Clearlight - for those who haven't heard this, you need to: Part 1 is from 0 to 20:26. Not the best sound quality, but you get the idea. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2K-fx3uoeo
