Mr. Anderson had to take a character (not a plot) from Neil Peart and try to fit all the events already chronicled in the songs and build an interesting narrative around the whole thing in a few months. It's probably better than it could have been. I will still listen to the audio book because Neil has a great reading voice. I don't think anyone was looking for Pulitzer Prize material anyway. Show, don't tell, IMO. Especially since the show part of their relationship leaves me unconvinced Owen even really believes it himself. Also the references to the songs are so direct they feel forced. We can get that he's thinking big without him actually saying it. Show, don't tell, IMO. Oh wait, I said that already.
