Deckiller
I'm just thinking they'll need a hit or two in that first set to satisfy the casuals.
Deckiller
Here's another option: do what Dream Theater did in the mid 90s with A Change of Seasons and split the concept album into three parts! Start with three classics, then Malignant Narcissism, then play Caravan through The Wreckers. Come back and start with Headlong Flight, BU2B2, and Wish Them Well. 3 more classics, then the drum solo, then The Garden, then The Spirit of Radio and 2112 to close out the 2nd set. And then 3 great songs for the encore. Maybe something like this: Tom Sawyer The Enemy Within Subdivisions Malignant Narcissism Caravan BU2B Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies Seven Cities of Gold The Wreckers Set 2: Headlong Flight BU2B2 Wish Them Well Cold Fire Drum Solo The Garden 2112 Overture/Temples of Syrinx Freewill YYZ The Spirit of Radio Encore: Limelight Witch Hunt Finding My Way/In the Mood Edited June 5, 2012 by Deckiller

HeadlongMark
6 songs? Ugh. Caravan BU2B Clockwork Angels The Anarchist The Wreckers Headlong Flight Of course, I truly believe they are going to do most of the new album if not all.
ThinkingBig
QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 4 2012, 12:07 PM) i think we're looking at the 6-8 range but i'd say closer to 8. I think you're right. And after today, I'm minding that less. With S&A, for me the 'hits' were Far Cry and two instrumentals. The others had bits and pieces I liked, but nothing like this album, where I'm actually looking forward to hearing a number of new songs.

We have similar tastes in RUSH music. I would only substitute Witch Hunt - we've got it two tours in a row, last tour is was part of the featured album. I would like to get Trees or Xanadu back in the rotation. Also, there's been hints at a nod toward Signal. I wouldn't mind an New World Man/Digital Man/Analog Kid medley. Dscrapre
I don't care as long as Carnies and The Wreckers are involved.

J2112YYZ
Caravan, BU2B, Clockwork Angels, Seven Cities Of Gold, The Wreckers and Headlong Flight. I think The Anarchist and Carnies will get played to. It's a lot better than S&A so I won't mind if they go a little nuts with playing the new stuff.

Kelly D
QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 4 2012, 11:33 AM) QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Jun 4 2012, 11:15 AM) With all the hype and promotion of this new album, I'm betting we're looking at a SEVEN or an EIGHT on the new song scale. But....But....If they do that many new songs, where will they find the time to do all of Signals with the orchestra ???? I needed that!
GuitarPlyr01
Far Cry Driven Subdivisions Prime Mover Freewill Headlong Flight* The Anarchist* Earthshine Bravado Half the World Double Agent Limelight ------------------------ Caravan* BU2B* Clockwork Angels* Seven Cities of Gold* The Wreckers* Digital Man The Weapon Leave that Thing Alone Drum Solo/Alex Solo 2112 Tom Sawyer Spirit of Radio ------- Dreamline YYZ Working Man There's my prediction, with SEVEN new songs. That's all based on the way they've structured their setlist the last few tours. I'm basing it mostly off S&A and the way they handled the new material on that tour. I agree, we might get alot more new stuff than usual. But I'd say 6 or 7 tops. I don't see it likely ALL of CA will get played. Thats an hours worth of music. Too much. CA would have to be the entire first half of the show. But hey, if they're feeling up to it, I guess they'll do it if they feel they can.
micgtr71
QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 4 2012, 11:18 AM) After hearing the whole thing, I hope they play the entire album in the first set. That's how much I'm digging this thing. But limiting it... I like your choices. Caravan, BU2B, Headlong Flight, Clockwork Angels, Anarchist, Seven Cities. Throw in Wish Them Well and The Garden if they push it to 8 songs. This is what I think too. I would love to hear the whole thing.

GuitarPlyr01
Now here's a thought....have they ever played the last song off an album on that albums tour? Cause I get the feeling based on the way they're talking about "The Garden" so much in interviews and press, that they're going to play it live. Maybe as the first song in the encore. I can picture that, since it will have a "finishing" type feel to the song.
