Snowdog2011
Has Rush ever considered adding a 4th bandmember over the years?
ColdFireYYZ
In the 80's they thought about hiring a keyboard player but they decided they'd rather use triggers/pedals to play the synth parts live. 1 of the 7
Yes, on tour, but they felt it would disturb the chemistry the three of them have, so they scrapped the idea and figured out ways to play with just the three of them. What interview was this in? I can't remember.
analog guy
Before they were signed, yes. Mitch Bossi, Lindy Young, etc..
Presto-a RUSH fan!
And as someone said, thru the keyboard era, they thought about adding a keyboard player but wanted to keep the integrity of a true 3 piece band. Thank God they didn't add anyone!
Invisible To Telescopic Eye
Back in the 70's they were thinking of hiring a guy to get some of those really deep bass tones during live performances and they were actually VERY close to hiring someone but they discover Moog Taurus Pedals so they scrapped the whole idea...That poor tuba player. Tommy Sawyer
Remember that one guy who belonged here a little while back? (Still does?) Wasn't he the 4th member of Rush?

Ghostnotes
I was mowing the grass when they called, said they wanted another drummer on stage...kind of like a grateful dead thing. My wife answered the phone and after listening to their pitch, she told them they were fakes and hung up on them.....

gestet2112
Ben Mink! Losing It from Signals features electric violinist Ben Mink, who played the distinctive solos and did the arrangement. Mink appears on two albums by the Canadian group FM ("Surveillance" from 1979 and "City of Fear" from 1980) and on Geddy Lee's solo album "My Favorite Headache". He also recorded a very-hard-to-find solo album called "Foreign Exchange", and at one time was the leader of k.d.lang's backing band.

Weakly Criminal
4th member = 3rd nipple. I'd prefer them to have a 2nd member... Growing from their foreheads.
